Really? That would be great. I'll have to look into this. I already create groups of faces for my clothing props (e.g., belts, hems of various heights, etc) and use those groups to allocate groups of faces (actually, vertices I think) to dynamic or constrained or soft decorated or hard decorated cloth (e.g., assign the belt group to constrained). However, I was not aware that a given clothing prop could have different groups of faces (vertices) which have different cloth simulation settings WITHIN the dynamic group.

Really? That would be great. I'll have to look into this. Yep. Poser 5 already had it in its first incarnation, it's called "New Dynamic Group". You can name the new dynamic group, set its dynamic properties (all of the dynamic controls work!), and use the "Edit dynamic group" button to select the vertices that it should work on.
Poser 5 SR2 or SR3 fixed the problem of not being able to save these dynamic properties to the props library.
But I'd love a cleverer way to select multiple body parts. For example, when a body part's children are collapsed, I'd love to see the effect of what I'm doing (visible/invisible setting, collision settings etc) apply to the children too, while an expanded child tree would mean I'd have to set each bone separately.
Another thing, I'd love to see the hierarchy editor open up in a collapsed state by default. My scenes contain many figures and props, so the hierarchy list tends to get uncomfortably long.

That's great! This is what I get for going straight from P4 Pro Pack to P6. I skipped right over that bit of progress! Thanks to LD and svdl for shedding light on this.

Ok, yes. That too! I'd go preorder P7 just for THAT fix. I am so tired of having to manually collapse all the intervening trees in the hierarchy editor every time I want to parent some figure's hand or foot to some distant (in the hierarchy editor) prop or other figure part. Another great suggestion svdl!
Still keeping my fingers crossed that they've done at least a few of these improvements.
should allow a shortcut change menu so we can customize whatever we need.
should allow choice of parent - child part by + or - key or page up or down or something. lateral sibling movement also (fingers of the hand, jump from l shoulder to r shoulder)
should be multi processor 64 bit! hate that memory problem
are you saying you can have multiple dynamic groups on the same cloth? i did not know this.
.... continuing my campaign to allow us to use the keyboard to increment dial parameters. The drag'n guess with your mouse routine is really, really old (still in Version 6? pathetic). Of course the alternative ot the mouse game is: type in a value -- oops! too much. Type in another value -- oops! too little. Etc.
Personally, this would be the single most important step toward increasing my overall mental happiness.

It’s obviously too late to lobby for any of these improvements, but I’ll just say that I plan to pre-order P7 the minute they announce at least a few of the following problems have been addressed:Customizable UI to improve screen readability by allowing me to adjust contrast between UI text and backgrounds.
Customizable UI to allow resizing of UI text so us oldsters can read what’s on the screen.
Customizable parameter dial palette so long parameter names can be fully displayed.
Customizable menus so I can permanently banish things like the Walk Designer. It sits right next to Python Scripts, which I use all the time. If I “mis-mouse” and accidentally hit the dang Walk Designer, Poser crashes and ruins my work because I don’t use James and Walk Designer can’t be cancelled. Or, at least make Walk Designer cancellable.
A functional Un-Do, especially one which allows un-doing more than one step back.
Allow group selection of body parts in poses and expressions (i.e., don’t make me micro-mouse and click on dozens of tiny little check boxes to deselect face morphs when saving an expression pose).
As a general matter, use selectable ranges rather than tiny little check boxes in places like the cloth simulation body part collision list.
Eliminate duplicate hot-keys so I can use Alt-D/C/A to invoke the Aux Camera without changing my editing tool to the dang paintbrush tool (which uses the same hot-key sequence). Allow saving of cloth simulation settings along with a clothing prop –or the figure to which the clothing props are parented before saving the figure to the library. That is, don’t make me specify the collision body parts every single time I load and animate one of my stock characters … a halter top is ALWAYS going to collide with the same body parts. Cloth parameters are saved with the prop, so why not collision target settings?
In fact, if they even fix just this last one I’ll go pre-order P7 today.
