**dphoadley @ momodot
**thank you too for all the help you've given me over time. Much of what I know and do today, I owe to you.
**dphoadley @ bnetta
**Thank you too, for your continued support and encouragement. Also for your offer to host the figure. I did recieve your email, and you'll soon be hearing from when I finish remapping the teeth and gums. My desire is for a Posette that is completely V3 compatable. the teeth may, or may not look more realistic when mapped to V3's teeth and Gums texture, but that is something that I want to evaulate with the Beta Testors.
The project may advance slowly, as I work a t a measure pace, but it does advance surely!
Yours truly,
Shalom from Israel - Happy Purim!

*" I hav'nt seen P4F improved upon in years, and am yet to have found a complimenting texture!"

Have you ever tried Pitklad's NEAena? He's appearantly made some major update's to Posette's head (completely flattened the eyebrow ridges, exchanged the teeth for a teeth prop, and substituted V2's eyes for those of Posette's, plus he used the Aprish's (Aprilish?0 V2 mapped Posette as his base figure, so NEAena uses V2 textures. I thought about using his Posette version for my remap, but decided I wanted to try with the Classic Posette first, and then clone it to these other versions (PosetteWG-Posette With Genitals, NEAena, etc.). Thus, I'd clone the PosetteWG's genital hip, and then remap the hip itself. Or I'd clone NEAena's head, and then remap the head. And, just possibly, I'd do both, and create a third version that's incorporate parts of both.
But I'm open to suggestions on how and where to carry this.

I had'nt been aware NEAena and Aprilish used V2 textures!
Mr. Hoadley, there is undoubtedly an enormous amount of energy going into this project, will we have a tutorial forthcoming? I'd love to know how to do this.
I'm hoping the principle behind mapping Posette to V3 is the same as V3 to any figure? I'd like to take a swing at remapping V3 for V4, and/or any other figures not supported by Universal Texture Creator.
Also I'd like to try to see V3 mapped with her arms down. Currently the seem on her arm runs straight through the length, of the upper side of her arm. I think people pay more attention to the upside of her arm(Actual Photos, Tattoos, etc.) and am sure texture creation for her would be easier.
= )
As for a tutorial, UV Dan has suggested the same thing. The truth is though, I don't REALLY know what i'm doing! I'm just DOING it, and learning as I go (which is why I want the Beta-Testors to tell me what I'm doing wrong).
I will say this, I look for similarity of pattern in either the Posette Mesh, and/or the V3 template, and try to match them up. Also, I first matched up the Standard Posette front texture (Nipples, Navel, and Groin) with thoses of V3. I then devided the back texture longitudianlly aloong the spine, and laterally just below the armpits, and assigned each of the four sections to a NEW seperate material zone (Right & Left Buttocks, and Right & Left Shoulders). After that, I started to marry-up the outside edges of each tthe outside edges of the front material. And I'm still in the process of doing that.
With the Head texture, I did so9mething similar. First I assigned bother sections of the head to New seperate material zones, i.e. SkinHead & SkinScalp. I then tried to match the Nose and the Eyes of the SkinHed mesh to those of the V3 template, and woried about the mouteh and Lips afterwards. I then devided the SkinScalp material into a Right and Left half, and then started marrying-up their outside edges to those of the SkinHead (See the screenshots).
Yours truly,
David P. Hoadley
PS: If someone wants to work all this into a tutorial, I'll be more than happy to work with them, but I'm not sure how to do THAT all by myself.

I discovered a unique way for guarenteeing the both side of the body would be symetrical -and also a time in the mappin process. After haing mapped one half of the body (and checking the results in Poser), I saved a template a template in UV Mapper. This template I then imported into Photoshop. There, with the selection tool, I selecter the good half and copied it to an new layer. This new layer I then fliped horizontally, and then moved it until it matched up with the vertices on the bottom layer. I then merged the layers and saved the resultes. In UV Mapper, I still have to move the vertices by hand, but I no longer need to guess where to put them, which is INDEED a timesaver. As I said earlier, you .learn by doing.

I think I remember the Posette's mesh as all having mirrored vertex orders (unlike V4, for example), so you can mirror the handed parts to the otherside, to mirror the mapping for all but the centerline parts.
That is, you can do the arms and legs, but not the head, neck, chest, abdomen or hip.
But maybe your already doing this?
So far, having done the head completely, and three-quarter of the the body (left and right forearms, lwft and right shoulders, left and right colars, both halves of the chest and abdomen), I've found that both sides of the body are absolutely identical. So far, I've not yet discovered a vertice on one side that didn't have a coresponding twin on the other side.
What I have discovered, is that Posette seems to have a high amount of vertices that split (becoming two)when moved, requiring me to spend time at reconnecting them back together. I'm not sure whether this is because of me, or shoddy workmanship by the original Zygote mappers, or something somewhere in between.
i would enjoy suggestions on how to get the eyebrows to texure better.
Yours truly,
David P. Hoadley

I spent over 10 hours yesterday, trying to fix the bloody, pesky, eyebrows, and some distortion on the upper lip. Finally, in desperation, I got a brainstorm, and decided that I'd try to borrow Pitklad's NEAena Posette. True, NEA is mapped to the V2 standard, but I suddenly had an idea of how I could use her head as a template, for mapping the eyebrows. I loaded NEA into UV Mapper, and selected the Skinhead material. I then saved a template of this as a bmp picture.
I then opened the DAZ UTC application and converted the V2 NEA head template to a V3 head template. This I then loaded into UV Mapper and used it as a guide for getting a smoother texture mapping of PosetteV3’s eyebrows. I then assigned the eyebrow’s material to the Skinhead zone, and thus eliminated the eyebrows as a separated independent material zone.
I then downloaded an eyebrow morph from: http://cresswells.com/cw/index.html, that was suggested to me by Antonio Cabñas, who’s been good enough to do some beta testing for me. This morph seemed to flatten the brows better than my previous ones, and what with the better blending of the brows with the forehead that I now had, I decided to make it permanent, so I exported the figure, with the morph set to 1.200, as a wavefront object.
Aside from that, I’ve remapped Posette’s fingernails and
toenails, and made partial progress on the mapping of the right hand. More will follow.
Yours truly,
David P. Hoadley

Just a little more work, remapping a couple of toes of the left foot, and PosetteV3 will be ready for distribution. Then I can mope around the house again, ... until that is, I start to work on DorkM3. PosetteV3 would be lonely without her lover. ;=)

Chinese Vase Freebie (Don't remember whose)
DAD's Umbrella
Flexible Screen (Don't remember whose)
Yamotosan's Linlin JP Correction Pose applaid for joint correction.
Rendered in Poser 5 with the three standard lights.
Moderately postworked in Photoshop.
To get the final effect, after doing photo touchup with the smudge, clone, burn, and blurring tool, I duplicated the layrer. I desaturated the top layer, and set opacity to 60%. To this layer I also applaid a light effect filter to slightly darken the scene and add to the mood.
PosetteV3 is an excellent model, and I believe that poly count is of minor importance as to quality of the texture applaid. Panko" is very good.

This is the figure that I was ultimately aiming for, and now she's in Freestuff: PosetteV3wG (PosetteV3 with Genitals). I've tried to remap this figure a dozen times the past, but was always stymied by facets in the vulva that went AWOL. I finally discovered that the problem was that they were self-assigning themselves to groups that were unrecognized by the Cr2. Simple solution, reassign them back.
PosetteV3wG is a remapped version of Arduino's P4WWG, and Imago3d's Anywoman, figure so that it can now be texturized with DAZ's V3 textures. PosetteV3wG is a genital version of the standard P4NudeWoman. Unlike Eve, which has been regrouped and rejointed, this figure is completely compatable with the P4 Conforming Clothes.
While this is a very light, and easy to use figure, the base mesh is over almost ten years old, and has certain flaws that crept into it. There is a slight, hairline split in the mesh of the genital, just beneath the clitoris. However, after running a seris of test, and seeing that it doesn't seem to show up on render, I don't think that this is a flow that needs to occupy too much worry.
Overall, this figure works very well, and I'm proud to offer it to the Poser Community.
Please Note: All textures need to be applaid by hand in the materials room, as MAT poses fall more or less into the realm of DAZ copywrite restrictions. One can however, open the obj. file in a text editor and rename the material zones to better comply with those of V3. It's as simply as that.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all my friends in the Poser Community, but especially to Stahlratte for his unstinting aid and advice. Also, my greatest thanks and appreciation are extended to Victoria_Lee for the kind donation of her V3 textures included with this figure -May G-d bless the both of you and yours all the days of your life!
The file zip contains:
PosetteV3wg.pcf Geometrie (use obj.Mover)
PosetteV3wG.Cr2 Character
PosetteV3wG.Png thumbnail
dph Texture file. Put this in your Textures folder.
INSTALLATION:
To install PosetteV3wg, you need to download the FREE ObjectionMover (Mover101) utility from the Utilities section of Renderosity.com (Just type 'Objaction' in the Freestuff seach guide).
Unzip the files.
Place the PosetteV3wG.pcf file in the P4NudeWoman subfolder of your Runtime/Geometries folder.
Next, Open Object mover, and locate the P4NudeWom.obj (RuntimeGeometriesP4NudeWomanP4NudeWom.obj) as your "seed file". Then locate the PosetteV3wG.pcf (It SHOULD be in the same folder) as "Difference file" Next, Click on the 'Decode' radio button at teh botoom of the utility, and then Press the 'Convert' button.
Yon ca put the PosetteV3wG.Cr2 and Png anywhere you please, just so long as it's in the 'Character' section of your Libraries folder (Runtimelibrariescharacter).
This figure may be used for both Private and Commercial renders (but please give some sort of honorable mention), but some to its morphs are under copywrite and still remain the property of their creators: Arduino, Plazio, and others. There are no restriction on the reposting of the Pcf. file
Good fun with PosetteV3wG!
I will be happy of receive your impressions, suggestions, and comments: dph@013.net.il
