you use only diffuse color, you should use also bump maps , it will add more deep into your rendered textures.. and I see also that the UV of the model are not really that perfect so in this situation the textures will never show 1:1

Before Poser 7, you must pay attention to the render setting Max Texture Size. Poser has this to let you try to keep it from blowing up using all your memory for textures. The default is 1024 (I think). The result is that your beautiful 4K texture is reduced to 1K before using it, leaving you with 16 times less detail.
Try raising the max texture size to 4096, and reload textures, then render.
Also, your render setting Min Shading Rate will give you grief as well. You must let Poser examine your shaders more closely. Use .2 and render again. You'll be surprised.
But, be prepared for more time and more space getting used up.

Next are three renders, each with different settings as shown in the image. Click to see it full size.
Note that some of the true quality is lost. This is because I had to compress this image for the Renderosity 200K byte posting limit. The true renders are even better than you see here.
I did not use a bump map on these renders, so that we can see the pure effect of the render settings. Only the diffuse color map was used, and no complex shader at all - just plugged the texture into Diffuse_Color. Nor did I use any tricky lighting.
In terms of just rendering the raw pixels from the color map, Poser can do quite well if you let it.

BB you should do that last test on David ... in the same areas as ahow above by Robert.. however i believe Robert don't even used final rendering setting for his render when you see the edges..

I don't have David. Regardless of which character is used, there is clearly an issue with default render settings that ruins the details in a color map.
Robert should change the Texture Size and Shading Rate and render it for us, to see the difference!

Cath that's a good texture for demonstrating the problem. The nose bloom is in all the characters, eh? They should use projection UV mapping like you said - why don't they?????!?
But still, David is what he is. Robert was seeking improvement, I think, which is what a lot of people seek. 90% real is much better than 6% real, eh? LOL

That was to late when I mention that to them, the models have already morphs made they try but can't change the geometry no more and decided to pull out what was on the market, I was feeling strange b/c it is not the way I was expected.. when you do the textures using for example deep paint3d that I use, the prog will fix the textures, but the textures will looks funny when you open it with photoshop but well rendered correct in poser.. this not really matter what you have on the textures as long as they render fine, most of the users that create the models forget about..
making a nice template for the eyes with horrible UV's , a waste of time ..

i add some more color to the skin after i uses some photoshop filter. it really gives the skin the final touch.
the most time i anti aliasing my models by myself when i use the smudge tool in photoshop. so the models are getting more smooth ;)

As you see the skin and the lips are so blurry, you don't think it could be the same texture.
I DONT GET IT....how to make it look more realistic. I´m not good with the language so it´s hard to make a right setup in poser.
If you can help, please explain how to choose the right texture-setup.
