Subject: Any reviews of crossdresser 3?

AnAardvark ( ) posted Sun, 20 April 2008 at 10:14 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 9:59 PM

Anyone have any reviews? They added the ability (with purchase of additional morph packs) to include figure morphs. Does it do as good a job as Wardrobe Wizard? Is it better for some things?
thanks

Wow there is a CrossDresser 3? This sounds great.

I have been having some bugs with batch processing.  HOWEVER - IT REALLY IS UP TO 6 TIMES FASTER.  I did a couple of Aerysoul items this morning in about 42 seconds a pop.  Color me impressed!

EDIT: also adding in  morphs works fantastic!  all of the aerysoul item shave the kewl movement morphs and what not.

I am now a shill for XD3, as it rocks!  Too bad I have spent like 100 bux on it.

@ **AnAardvark,

I don't have the pack to add the V4 morphs into the items.  Just that an item retains the morphs that it had originally, like open and close.  That seems to work great.**

AnAardvark ( ) posted Sun, 20 April 2008 at 4:50 PM

Anyone know whether it preserves partial morphs? (Especially movement morphs which aren't full body morphs?) That was the biggest drawback to Wardrobe Wizard 2, the fact that you had to turn them all into FBMs.

nickedshield ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2008 at 12:30 PM

If the morphs are built in, not body handles, I believe it works. for a test I looked at M3's Arab robe by PW to see what it had, lots of morphs. Converted to Ug using the add morph function. I used the lowest quailty setting since I was more concerned with the morphs at this time. Result: All of the morphs were put in and could be acessed by the body or body part. does that help?

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Not impressed by it, had several issues with A4 (real) morph not showing up in the clothing I batch converted.

Right, nothing batch has worked for me so far.  I am thinking that will need a fix :)

Then again, since it was converting so fast... I didn't mind.  I did all of AS Eclipse to A3 with morphs in about 10 min.

The only reason why I purchased XD was cause I needed to convert several gloves form other figures and found XD to be the better at it than WW2 or Clothing Converter.

Question -- its not clear to me reading the XD 3 site whether you can fit clothing to a morphed figure, like you can with Wardrobe Wiz 2.   Just to be clear, I'm talking about spinning body dials on a V3 for example and then clothing through XD so it fits the morphed body.

I do have XD 2 and can recommend it highly for conversions between figures. I bought WW 2 because of the fitting function, and I can recommend that program very highly as well. If XD 3 had fitting I would get the uprade because its always better to have two tools for a problem.

At this point no.  You have to buy a seperate pack for putting morphs into clothing and currently they have only V4 available.  I am assuming that V3 / A3 and the rest are coming later.

Hi Gazukul,

Have you succeeded in tranferring custom morphs?. I can convert the clothing, but every time I try to transfer a morph ( not V4's FBM , those work fine) I'm getting an errormessage and the program stops.

Bopper.

-How can you improve things when you don't make mistakes?

To experiment - I just spawned a morph target into a clothing item (AS Elven strapped) with magnets and successfully transfered it over.

I have had it bomb on other stuff I was transfering morphs, on a few items I had to drop out some of the channels in order for it to work.  Like on the Eclipse leg item, there were a couple of knee morphs that would not go.

Let me know if there is something you want me to try specifically.

I just installed it and tried a straightforward convert and get an invalid floating point operation error.  Contacted them , waiting for reply.

This has been a great improvement, especially now there's the welding options. Had so many problems with 2.0 about cracks or breakage in the mesh. Also adding the morphs is so easy and I love the batch option.

I'm having trouble with I think the joint paramaters? around the neck and crotch area. Don't know too much about how to fix this in poser even after looking at PhilC's tutorials.

If anyone is kind enough to give directions for a noobie, My V4 will thank you for her new Utilze clothes:)

Don't have it and probably never will. Have tried everything and can not put anything in my cart. Different browsers firewall off, yes I'm admid of the computer. Have emailed the vendor many times and the last email from him was what browser are you using. Told him and that's the last I've heard. Was going to get the one for Sydney but will just have to either use WW or make my own. But I'm glad other folks are able to use it.

@Marque I had the same checkout problem using Netscape. Used Internet Explorer and everything worked. Very strange.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

For those considering getting the Ug license, be forewarned it kind of works but has issues. The three most notable so far: 1.Converting PW's M3 Bib overalls, the converted clothing loaded minus part of the thigh. That is caused by the original having a buttock and Ug doesn't. corrected that using UVMapper Pro and asigning the buttocks to the thighs. 2. It appears the right forearm is not being calculated correctly, it is shorter than the left as shown on the PW bib overall shirt. 3. If a clothing item has a neck, Ug doesn't, so the converted item may have that part missing when loaded. The final annoyance is converting a robe, dress, like PW's Arabian for M3, due to Ug's construction more than likely there will be a spike in the crotch area. Even with these bugs at least ug is finally getting clothed. I have modelled clothes for Ug and it is a dog.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

nickedshield ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2008 at 10:26 PM

Addedum to above post: disreguard the first two items, found out it was operator error and a faulty clothing item.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 23 April 2008 at 6:47 PM

Tried I.E. don't think a person should have to jump through hoops to buy something. I will just use WW 2.0
At least if I have a problem with one of PhilC's products he is right on it, and is patient even if it's my fault it's not working.

nickedshield ( ) posted Wed, 23 April 2008 at 7:00 PM

I agree Marque, shouldn't have to change browsers for different sites. If WW2 supported Ug I wouldn't have messed with XD but have to use what is available for figure of choice...grumble.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Hmmm I feel like a totelly noob... But how do I get movement morphs that are in orginall cloth, to go into the converted cloth - using just XD3?

nickedshield ( ) posted Fri, 02 May 2008 at 7:46 PM

If you haven't solved your morph question this might be of some use: After you have the clothing, convert quality, from figure and to figure selected take a look at the Transfer Morphs section, Click on the Choose Button then select those you want. Then click in the checkbox otherwise the morphs won't transfer. Then click on Convert Clothes.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

jecnodde ( ) posted Sat, 03 May 2008 at 3:08 AM

:) ok - I have now tried, so a fast question:  Just body morphs are transfered? I mean not moement morphs that are in hte hip.

nickedshield ( ) posted Sat, 03 May 2008 at 9:18 AM

If the movement morphs are controlled by a body handle, those won't transfer. If you want basic movement use the skirt and add handles function If you are comfortable using the setup room you can always add the bodle handles yourself.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

jecnodde ( ) posted Sat, 03 May 2008 at 9:24 AM

:) thanks.

I was trying to convert a clothing with movement morphs just on the hip...and I couldnt understand why they didn't transfer. :O Well now I know :)

And I'm familier with setup room, but just a little bit lazy :=

nickedshield ( ) posted Sat, 03 May 2008 at 10:17 AM

Aw, you now sound like me:) I'm chief of lazy, if I can get away with it, lol
