Subject: Creating gaps in an ecosystem

I've only had ecosystems for a little while so this might be obvious.

I want to site a vehicle (but it could have been a building for that matter) in a dense forest / jungle setting.

I've maxxed out density to get the thick coverage, but need to prevent the trees from growing through the vehicle. I thought the 'Avoid overlapping instances' option might stop this, but it kills the density I wanted, and the trees still grow through the vehicle model anyway.

Anyone know how to do this?

Using Vue 6 Pro Studio BTW

The way I do it:
Place vehicle then do the eco system using the "decay near foreign object" and set it about 5%, that should do it.

Or... you open the ecosystem material, click on paint and use the eraser brush to remove the trees manually.

Thanks for the hint on the decay option. Of course it was right there in front of me and I didn't realise its significance. Had to play around with the settings but I now have what I was after.

Another option that can be useful for accurate distribution is to drive the ecosystem density with a bitmap image. Geekatplay studio have good tutorials showing this.

Vue Pro Studio does not have the Paint Ecos Options!!!! So you can not erase them either!!! You can also create a desity map as outlined in this LINK
