Subject: Weird mesh distortion in A4/G4, only in P8 and PPro 2010 - HELP!!!!

I am experiencing a very weird mesh distortion in both A4 and G4 (with ++morphs added), which occurs on applying a character INJ pose - please see the attached jpg illustration.

This seems to only occur when I use pre-P8 cr2's which I saved in the Figures library some time ago, and which consist of e.g. A4 base plus ++morphs, saved as a cr2 called A4++morphs.

Has anyone seen this sort of distortion?  Can anyone give me an explanation/workaround/fix?

I'm tearing my hair out on this one, since it is holding up marketing on one of my own character sets, and I don't seem to be able to find out anything about why this is happening.

Any help appreciated!!

I've seen shoulder distortions in Cararra and the culprit was her deformers.

I'm not sure if it will help in Poser, but if you go to the hierarchy editor you can delete her deformers from there and see if it helps.

As I'm lead to believe, the joint scaling changed in Poser 8 and PPro 2010 from Poser 7 and before. I'm thinking your problem has something to do with that. I don't know how to tell you to fix it though.

Thanks to you both for your replies!  I forgot to state that the distortion only occurs on the left arm, so it doesn't seem like joint scaling would cause it.......surely it would affect both arms?  Will look at the deformer suggestion.

looks like one of her morphs is not working correctly. Try to reinstall either V4 or morphs++

Tried deleting deformers, didn't make any difference. :(

@ Jules53757 - thanks for your suggestion.  The strange thing is that the distortion doesn't occur on the base version of V4.2, or Elite, with ++morphs ....only on A4/G4 (and then only where I've used an old 'amalgamated morphs' cr2!), so there can't be a problem with either V4 or ++morphs.  It also only happens in P8 and PPro 2010, not in P6/7/PPro7 or DStudio 2.3 and 3, so that's another indication that there isn't a need to reinstall.  I DID  try reinstalling A4, to see if that made any difference, but it didn't.........:(

I've finally found the answer to the problem - there was an entry in the pose file in one of the 'blank' injection channels, which shouldn't have been there.  I've corrected it now, and as far as I know now works perfectly as intended.  Thanks to all who tried to help!
