Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 07 11:07 am)
Lots of threads to read on the subject - start here in search:
Monterey/Mint21.x/Win10 - Blender3.x - PP11.3(cm) - Musescore3.6.2
Wir sind gewohnt, daß die Menschen verhöhnen was sie nicht verstehen
[it is clear that humans have contempt for that which they do not understand]
Thanks for the link, but I couldn't find an answer to my questions in there.
Perhaps I have to ask my question otherwise: It is possible to do clothes in Poser or do I need another 3 D program to make the clothes (meshes)?
If - for example - I need 3Ds Max to do the clothes how can I know that it is the good size for V4?
Does anyone know a tutorial or an explication for this?
Thanks
Irene
This link was in that search:
Fugazi mentions Silo. There's also Blender, Wings3D, Maya, modo... depends on what you want to spend, or, more importantly, how much time you want to invest in learning how to model.
Yes, you can use Poser primitives to make clothing in Poser (google will bring up that site) but you might want to go the route of a modeller.

Bonjour Irene,
You've come to the right place. There are a lot of talented people here who would be more than willing to guide you through every step of the way.
My advice, try wings3d first then move on to modo or lightwave when you feel you are ready.
BTW If you are interested we have a french forum here.
If you are not a modeller (and I am not) I have found two options:
Philc has a clothing designer package on his page at philc.net. It does not require modeling skills. About $60.
Pegasus, available over at Daz, is a self-contained package for creating clothing for Poser people. About $40.
I own both, and have found that you can get there using both. PhilC's package is simpler, but Pegasus gives more flexibility IMHO.
The choice of modelling apps is individual. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.
There are free apps like Blender, Wings, trueSpace and anim8or.
Hexagon can be purchased for the price of the DAZ Characters, Figures and Avatar's book from Amazon.
For purchase range from low (for modellers) up to the mortage the house prices.
There is Silo, Houdini, Modo, Lightwave, ZBrush, Mudbox, 3DCoat, XSI, Max and Maya.
If a for pay has a demo, download it and try it. Just keep trying ones until you find one that works for you.
Yes, of course that's right. I will try Pegasus at first because I have no idea how to model anything. I would like to learn it but I don't have enough time to sit down for days and study how 3DS Max or Maya is working.
I think that Pegasus is the right thing for me for the moment and after we will see. I just want to do clothes, that's why I began to work with poser. I learned to use Poser by myself, so I am quite optimist that one day I will learn to model.... lol

Hi all,
I wonder since a long time how are you doing clothes for Victoria 4 or other caracters.
Which programms do you use? Are you all 3D modelers or is there another way to create clothers or shoes?
I would like to create clothes, but I have no idea how to do and if I am qualified.
Could someone help me?
