lol at bruno...Not really, but we all know what a fanboy you are bruno..
8 was a good version, 9 went a bit worse and 10 has been virtually unusable...
I nearly forgot for a minute there, nobody is allowed to say what they think of Vue here unless it's to heap praise on it....
Well I'll gladly heap praise on 8 seeing as that was the best version ever in my opinion, and I actually did praise it bruno as any scan through old posts will show you..
So you were quite wrong in your assesment weren't you bruno...!
No need to apologise, that would take someone better....

I remember your griefs about 9, and 9.5, and yet, you bought 10, for what? Out of extreme optimism? If I am disappointed by 2 versions of a program, I don't buy the next, just to whine about it in user forums. I bought Hexagon a long time ago, buggy as hell, hated it, deleted it, forgot about it, didn't even bother to let everyone know about it in user forums.
Well I see it differently to you bruno...Sure I am ever an optimist, I might even get an apology one day..see how much optimism I have...:p
I like Vue as a program, and I hope each time it will be better, but it never seems to be, so yea, silly me for still buying it..woohoo, well done bruno, you have me....Version 8 was the best ever, I should reload it...
The erason I post on forums is so that others can make a decision not just based on fanboy reviews who say it's great even when it isn't...
Do you know anyone like that bruno..?

Nobody minds a technical critique. Something specific - something informed and detailed that allows viewers to make a comparison or determination for themselves. Something that engages the intelligence of presumably intelligent viewers.
Pretty much everybody minds a generic and aimless slap at a product. Basically chance for personal expression for the venter, but a waste of forum space and time for everyone else.
No, that last was not correct. An aimless slap at a product is good news for other people who "hate" a product as well. Encourages those folks, so in that, it is a good post.

Oh so now I'm a hater of Vue am I forester..?
The same crap comes out from you fanboys each time someone tells it how it is, "you're just a hater, bal, blah"....
I'm not a Vue hater, I love Vue, I have had Vue since Version 4 and have seen each version get slowly worse [except for 8]...Version 10 has been a dog, mempry leaks, Import problems, rendering issues on preview mode since the last update, tech support virtually irresponsive for the most part..
So, we all have opinions based on our usage, mine has been bad with the last 3 versions, that's not hating, that's telling it how it is without the blind following where saying "anything" remorely bad about Vue is attacked...

I don't mind hearing bad things about Vue when they are indeed documented, reproducible. Vue is s**t just won't do.
Might not do for you bruno, but it's a comment that hits the nail firmly on the head for me, and there are plenty of others who say the say thing, except they're too scared to post it because of the fanboys like yourself...
Most have left here now anyway due to the software getting worse and the attacks they received when saying how bad it is in these forums...

My apologies, thefixer. It is possible that you are reading into my note a personal slap at you. I do not intend to say that you are a hater (and did not say so, if you read closely).
What I said is that generic and vitriolic comments such as yours do bring out and seem to cheer on those that are self-identified as Vue haters. There are two regulars who post here often and are self-identified as such. Then we end up with a cycle of name-calling, with nothing actually to do with the specifics of Vue. Having worked with this forum for some eighteen-nineteen years now, I think this is an observation that is just a simple fact. Nothing more meant by it than that.
It is true that bruno's first comment provoked you into name-calling and disparaging remarks about all us "fanboys", which should be most of us who visit this forum, yes? (Although "fanboy" is rather a disparaging term - a slander, technically, yes?)
However, have you considered that your original comment/phrasing provoked bruno in the exact same manner?
I know that I find it provoking, personally. I don't find that 'anything' many people have worked on for years and years to try to make as good and unique a thing as possible - worthy of being called "a pile of shit." That utterly demeans all their years of work, and their intentions. It is a totally conclusive judgment that ends all conversations.
Given the sharp meaning of this kind of statement, and the fact that it is a total conversation ender, should you actually be surprised that it provokes others into a response - a challenge to you? Or, have you perhaps had a poor education as to the true meaning of words?
I am truely a forester. I've spent my adult life in the field, in rough and sometimes dire conditions and always in the language of rough men doing a rough job. There is a time and a place for comments such as "this is a pile of shit." I've used that phrase several hundreds of times myself. This forum is not that kind of place, and Vue is not a muddy hole in cold driving rain that ten of us are going to have to go down into hanging onto a muddy rope. Vue is, rather, the strong endeavor of many talented people trying to build as good a product as possible. I don't think you honor that effort or those men and women very well. I don't think you offer constructive criticism, by your comment, or any useful piece of information. I think this forum is where we come to find useful information, and good criticisms by which we all can benefit.
You can take that as 'fanboy comment", or in any way you wish. But if you do so, perhaps you are not truely listening to what is being said here.
Quote - Good for you martial..well done..
Fanboys united...lol.
You really aren't helping your cause here you know - I use, and like, Vue, Poser, 3DS MAX and Reaper but to be called a "fanboy" just because I like them is both inaccurate and insulting

Bruno, your opinion is not the only one that matters. Give us a break. We want honest critical opinions about vue not the fanboyisms . You seem unable to criticize vue, but freely criticize people. People matter more than software. Leave the ad hominem attacks out of the critiques of vue. Please, stop instigating & attacking people on this forum for having a different opinion than yours. It is getting way old.
I find honest opinions important because I am long time vue user who stopped upgrading Vue when eon started with the incremental maintenance scam updates. I believe this be a very bad policy for eon & eon users. I plan to update when Vue 15 is announced which is only 3.5 years away. I need to know the history of the most stable vue version to make sure I am getting my money’s worth. I need critical opinions to make this decision. I appreciate these opinions. I don’t need wasteful, antagonizing, instigating posts with no value & only praise. Please stop with the uselessness. It is not cute & you are not a 5yr old.
Sorry about that other thread, Folks.
I didn't mean to be inflammatory, nor mean to thefixer, if it were to be taken that way.
I only meant to try to diffuse this situation with some humor. The thing is, there is no place to just express a lot of frustration, and I meant only to provide a place where thefixer's comments could be taken in context.
My apologies to the members of the forum.
Just a quick question - When did liking a program become unfashionable? These threads are not only not constructive, but they are destructive.
Bruno produces excellent images and shares his knowledge. Why does that make him a fanboy? Is it because he is very knowledgeable and talented?
I really like Vue. I have had few problems with 10. What does that make me? I am not wanting an answer. I would like to say, let's talk about what is new in 10.5. How do the new features work. It seems like the only long threads are when people complain. There are some really knowledgeable people on this forum. let's contribute to each others knowledge as we used to do years ago or should I make a really bad pun and say eons ago.

Right, you're not slagging me off you say, yet your above comment which I quoted clearly calls into question my education....which I could report as personal abuse, but I know that would be a waste of time...
I'm highly educated actually forester, up to HNC level, so where does that leave you..?
As to Vue, I've said what I said, and won't be retracting it any time soon, I would expect the people who spend these years building up the software to get it right by now, but each time we get a new version we get the same issues, memory leaks, import problems, other bugs that were present in previous versions, the list is endles...Then they give you an update to fix them, but always you get a new problem along with the update..it's a never ending cycle....

OK, we're done here. I'm locking this.
