Nice! I am liking that pose for some reason, LOL.
I have a smililar render I was working on. had a girl on the floor and I modeled the floor to have alternating blocks which I turned into lights. wanted to see the effect of floor lighting on a model. Will have to finish that one up soon, the effect was nice.

Quote - One major thing that would help that drove me nuts with this one. Can we have lights able to be multi-selection edited as well like the normal materials?
Yes, that feature is one that I plan for the next version of Reality. If you have any suggestion/feature request please post it in the BTS (see FAQ http://preta3d.com/forum/reality-faq ) and I'll consider it for the future.
Cheers.

Just playing with some new addons. Figures are Genesis, most of the set by me. Genesis just keeps growing on me, very versatile. (click image for full size)

Last post lost the link, let's try again.I have a question for any who might have an idea, but certainly for Paolo.
I've gone back to do some rendering in DAZ 3. Reality launches just fine, but when I click on "render", Lux does not open. For a split second, I can see the message that says "exporting . . . ", but when I check the appropriate folder, the materials file has not been created.
I'm using Win7, 64 bit, and have successfully used DAZ 3 with Reality 1, 1.25, and 2 in the past, along with Lux .8 and .9. I've tried uninstalling (according to the installation instructions) and re-installing both Reality 2.20.1.117/64 bit and Lux 1.0RC. Reality is correctly pointing to Lux.
I hope this is an easy one. TIA.
Jay
Jay, have you explicitly set the path to Lux in Reality? Even if the path listed is the same, if things have changed it's always best to click on the "Change" button in the Output path and select where Lux is. Thus is because Reality does some verifications to the Lux executable only when the program is selected.
Also, you might want to look at the Studio log for any trace of error messages.

This will be the last I do in this series. I guess I'll get back to my more mundane fantasy shots. (Perhaps naked gun babes are in order.)

Paolo, yes I have done that. I've switched back and forth between the Lux .9 folder and the Lux 1.0RC folder.
I have just now looked at the Studio log for errors. There's a ton of stuff in there, but I did locate the following:

Jat, I would remove the "! " from the name of the directory.

Paolo, thanks for the suggestion. I tried creating a new folder called "My Renders" and a sub-folder within that called "Lux Renders". I then changed the destinations in the Output screen of Reality. Saved the scene, closed Daz 3, reopened, and the same result . . . Lux not launching . . . no material file(s) being created.
BTW, I've used those folders, which include the "!", ever since Reality 1.0 without issue.
One more thing, which seems a bit trivial, but what the hey. Within DAZ, when I click on the render tab, the Reality option used to have your logo next to it; ever since this problem started, it is just blank.
Jay, I see now that your scene name has a * at the beginning. Please use file names that don't use punctuation like that. The asterisk is used for wildcard matching in the file system

Paolo, well, removing the asterisk did the trick! Lux launched and started doing its thing.
BTW, since I like having these folders at the "top of the stack", I put the "!" back in, and Lux is launching just fine under this scenario. It was just that "*" that was holding things up.
Many, many thanks, sir!
Better than the "!" is the "" but it's your preference. "*", "?", and a few others are reserved for file searches so it's better to avoid any punctuation except for "".
Cheers.

Thank you John. It was great. I met with my family for the first time in 14 years. So many things have changed and a few additions "happened" in the meantime so it was a great time to catch up.
It's good to be back to. :)

The white (Gemma) has the V4Hi-res Daz skin with the Smoke Make-Up option. The Blue is using RebelMommy's Courtney morph and skin with a darker coat setting.
Bob, what is your specular color? Glossiness is just one thing ta affects the overall glossy effect. The specular affects the result as much if not more.

You mean that the specular, not diffuse, color is red=7, green=8 and blue=10?

It'll be the hair, especially red hair—red-gold sprinkles from hell. You also get this with metals near the skin. However, I've never seen it right in the middle of the face like that. I guess it's because of the hair overhang on her right—you might be right about the scaling though. But you said the glossy was 1-2000 (which I thought was very low), but it's 7000. With a very low specular that shouldn't be out of order, though.
So lowering the glossy is making no difference at all? My skin glossy settings are usually around 6000-8000 (with a low spec, somewhere around 20, say). I would think 2000 would look very matt.
I'm pretty sure you need to look at the hair. Out of the box it probably has high spec or glossy.
I think of the regulars on the DAZ thread did a lot of testing on this with some red hair, a good while ago, but I can't recall the conclusions.
