Subject: Anyone know what causes this - Vertices sticking

Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? I see this happen most often when V4s chest is twisted and moved hard to one side. I've seen it in several different conforming clothes figures.

Thanks up front for any input.

Weird... post a wireframe, is the vertice aligned with a vertice on V4?

Slightly different pose but you can still see it.

Here's the wireframe.

Actually, it looks more like an edge problem than problems with the vertices.

It just gets stranger. This only happens if you both twist the chest and move it side to side. And then it only happens if both are the same sign (both positive or both negative). If one is positive the the other is negative, it does not happen.

One of the weight maps (if it is weight mapped) is pulling on that point with less strength than it should. Check the rotations independently and increase the weight. OR it's not in one of the fall off zones (spherical or capsule) for a rotation (or multiple rotation) dials. Move the fall off so it includes the stray vert.

Thanks Teyon. It's not weight maped and adjusting the innerMatSphere and outerMateSphere has no effect. I've tried that individually on side to side and twist. There is something about them working together that I'm missing.

Hmm. That's usually how I fix this when it happens to me. Pretty odd. Did you take a look at the bend, maybe that's the culprit? I don't know now....

You're right Teyon, I need to widen my search. I'll check on the abdomen too.

Bend is usually the culprit. Had it happen to me when I was rigging a body suit for Sydney. Usually expanding the inner sphere on the bend in the joint editor fixed it.

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Thank you everyone. This has been very frustrating. But, I found the solution. There are several things I know about doing, but never try because I've never needed them before. One of the things I've never needed to do before was to move the joint itself.

The fix was really easy once I gave it a try. I opened the joint editor and selected side-side. The joint with a center point and three legs appeared. I grabbed the center point with my mouse and pulled down on it very, very little. The point is gone. The amount of movement was so small I had to try it a second time just to see if that had fixed the problem. That was it. So, if you ever see something like this and the sphere props aren't doing it for you, give moving the actual joint a try.
