Subject: A figure into a wireframe

As a real beginners with Poser 9, is there a way to turn a human figure (or any figure) into a wireframe?

select figure and press alt+ctrl+3

If you mean to render as a wireframe, select the wireframe option you want to display (such as in lowpoly's example). Note that you can choose to have the whole scene displayed in wireframe, which will probably be visually confusing, or only a selected figure or prop. Then choose anti-alias from the render menu - don't actually render.

If you want to render larger than the preview window, then make a "movie" with only a single frame, and choose the appropriate settings.

I can only be vague about the exact procedure since I'm currently teetering on the brink of buying Poser 9. However it can be done in earlier versions and I'm sure the ability hasn't been taken out.

You can also load the texture template for the character or prop as an actual texture and render that.

This is Victoria 3 with this method.

And if you invert the image (white mesh on black) and plug it into a transparency channel, you get an actual wireframe.

I often increase the ambient value on the figure and in smooth shaded lined style do a preview render... I've found that it gives a very detailed and clear image of the mesh.

...you can experiment with the various settings like color in ambient color, also you may have to disable transparency in the lashes or hair or cornea in the material room if you like.

Loading any .obj into free UVMapper will let you produce such a template (as a b/w wireframe).  Making this into a negative and adding it to your transparency channel would produce a nice wireframe look.  With backsided polys removed it would probably look like a holgraphic projection of some kind.
