Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
A "dirty" way , for the springs, would be make some morphs to expand them when you move the "other poser bones".
Mm.. yes that might be the way. But ideally they should be slaved to the actual movements then, and although I think it's actually possible, it's a bit beyond my reach. Oh well. I'll have to see if I can fake it in some way then :)
And Hi FrankT :) Ages indeed. 3 years o.O BUT.. I'm clawing my way back now L

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

WB, TG. I was thinking of making one of those a few days ago, and considering exactly the same as you. I reckon adh3d has it and that's what I also came up with.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
You will need:-
Also since you have parallelograms going on you will need to make the fourth arm of the parallelogram point back to the screw pivot at its base using a similar method.

You will need:-
- a morph to extend the spring.
- ERC control to link it to the required movement.
- the screw holding the end of the spring to be a separate bone.
- set the spring to "point at" the screw.

Er.. right. On second thought, I think I'll just make the shade moveable L
I didn't even know I had parallelograms.. Here I thought I'd just made a desk lamp L ;)
But you confirmed what I feared. That it isn't just something (relatively) easy to make poseable. I might still give it a go, as an exercise, but.. I'm afraid I'll run out of steam if this takes too long. And I just don't want that to happen just when I made it back :)
At least all the bits are already seperated with different material zones, so it would be possible. Anyone wants a challenge? ;)

Are you kidding me? I have to use donor rigs when I rig anything! But the model looks great, and it's nice to see you doing your thing again! Welcome back!
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Thing is, a Luxo lamp is held in place by springs. And I just don't know how to fake that in Poser. The rest of it is fairly simple to make into something that moves, but.. er.. those springs?!
CAN it be done or should I stop even considering how ;)
(oh and yes, I'm back. And modeling o/ )
