Subject: weight mapping issue

hi members, please look at the image below, the object is a smooth 3dmodel at 1st, once skeleton applied and weight mapped, unwanted dark spots show up around the model... any idea how to fix it?

Do they render like that? If not, then don't worry about fixing it

Poser 10? Try to add subdivision and see what happens. If it's the same, I am at a loss...

I wonder if they are unconnected polys or Ngons. They sometimes render like that.

yeah, i did suspect they are unconnected polys after setting up figure bones in setup room. 1 thing is that if i save it to figure library, poser will create a new identical geometry file obj in that library folder, but with seams visible around it like it was group separated or somtng.

I never would have thought about ngons. And I've only seen unconnected polys destroy a cloth sim. I guess Poser's smoothing and crease angle will expose modeling issues. Glad you fixed it.

If you change the view in the main window to wire frame, that ngon will be visible. You will have to tessellate it into a quad.

Yeah, but they are on my laptop and I am forced to surf the web on the company's computers. So I can't post them...
