Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
The "please do not put such "Art" on this site" felt a little nasty if you ask me.

The irony is, if I wanted to explicitly sculpt naughty bits on her face believe me I could. The vertical suggestion might be there but it's not explicit, you could see such a thing in a dozen pg13 horror movie special effects, and worse. Let that sink in. I can only imagine whoever pushed the button on the rejection over there can't stomach horror movies for 13 year olds.

My imagination tells me that a mob of child fairy mushroom stool type artists over there were just so horrified that the uproar became too much for management Lol.

As I suspected. I'll spare such sensitive sensibilities my thoughts on this, but it just figures. Hopefully none of the offended have ever downloaded any of my stuff. I wouldn't want them having it. It's the principle of freedom and choice, it works both ways. I'm going to hide tiny photorealistic vaginas (and PENISES gasp) in everything I make now ;)

I think probably, in the end, it was just a couple of people that simply don't like me that complained. If it were otherwise most people would just say "yuck" and move on. But it's such a small pond. And has certainly gotten smaller. I'd like to apologize to any child fairy mushroom stool artists that may have been injured in the process. I actually like child fairy mushroom stool art.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but how the bleep can there be member complaints if the item wasn't even given an upload approval so that it could be seen?

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?
I saw this when you posted it a few days back. Made me laugh. I can see why some people may be upset by it but I don't think it merits removal.

Rejection and editing are always painful, but ShareCG is in business to make money. They know what their customers like, and they don't want to put an item in the 'display window' that will drive away their customers. They're exerting Quality Control, as all publishers do.
Objectively speaking, they haven't jailed you or fined you or even demonetized you. They've simply given you a useful piece of information. Now you know what the audience likes, and you can exert your own Quality Control accordingly. You can either find another outlet for your art, or adjust your art to fit the desires of the ShareCG audience.

You make many true and valid points Ockham, I agree with most of it. There's one little flaw in the logic though... the OTHER highly rated things in my gallery there. I can provide many examples but here's one that's very obvious. Why is this acceptable and the other is not?
I have other well received examples of a similar vein, it's a little difficult to exert an adjustment to what art I submit when a control isn't used in the study to proceed from. There's more to it. As in whoever complained simply had a grudge, after all the image wasn't actually removed for TOS violation it was removed because of the opinion of a few squeaky wheels...

And btw Ockham, you might find this hard to believe as your art by and large is extremely friendly and cute but I found your electroshock machine, and the suggestion you make that electroshock is a valid means of therapy, highly objectionable and disturbing. Especially since it's couched in a childlike context with a child subject in the imagery. But did I complain? Lol.
Just kidding... but you can see where something like that could lead.

Human mind works at a associative level not logic, your second image is more fantastical in nature so its easier to digest emotionally, the first more ambiguous so made people uncomfortable - everyone is clinging to their own greasy pole of sanity at the moment so don't like other people coming along and shaking it.

True. Perhaps I should be less confrontational. I appreciate beauty and kindness and loveliness in art too, and am capable of expressing in such a way.
I think it's best to just use the ignore button rather than take vindictive action however. Limiting other's voices because you don't like the content of their (in all reality harmless) speech doesn't feel like an intelligent option to me. To be honest I've encountered this before, I can swim comfortably in conflict. It's regrettable that I can.
The only thing I'm guilty of is making dumb bad art Lol. At least I consciously know when I am.

Origin of the World has almost always been considered controversial. Arsebook censoring it doesn't surprise me in the least.

Maybe OT maybe not...
You know I've often considered haunting Renderotica but what do they talk about on the forums over there? I think I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face lol. I mean, the most cleverly designed torture devices? Bodily fluid simulations? Most convincing mucus membranes? I went there recently to buy some pubic hair photoshop brushes, yikes there's some weeeiiirrrd stuff. Imagine being an artist that spends all their time with a tentacled sci fi/horror speculum up V4 innards?
Go to the opposite end of the spectrum... Hivewire. The Genital Free Puppy Safe Zone; Happy Babies, Happy Animals, and ummm Happy Trees? You're greeted by a kindly old lady in a rocking chair with a flowery meadow in the background and little blue finches frolicking above (which the 35 cats somehow live in harmony with)? They do have the best critters over there though, and Sparky (philosophersegg) is incredibly talented.
FantasyAttic? I tried. I like the misfit vibe but the layout and all the bouncing little emojis made me nervous.
What other sites are there that aren't complete ghost towns? CGBytes seems like it was constructed solely to host Ero's PE project. Completely empty now...

Yes that's pretty OT.
For the subjects of forum discussions at Rotica best go there and look for yourself. It may be less outlandish than you think.
I like Hivewire for their absolute 'paradise restored' approach. Let's face it. You sell pretty good models of a large cat, with morphs to a lion, a cougar, a panter, with pose sets. These animals are predators. Yet in the pose sets that fact is completely ignored. There are poses for Dusk and the tiger sitting together (pretty un-tiger-ish) but no pose sets for the tiger doing what it was made to do, hunt and slay a tasty deer or caribou. Yet they do sell a pretty good model of a horse, with morphs to a deer, a caribou, and more. I have the impression this is deliberate policy, pursued eventhough it costs them income. Respect and hats off for that.
I do like Chris Creek's miniature paintings, guy is one hell of an artist. Not avant garde or edgy or anything but very skilled. A renaissance man I guess you'd say. I can see where his faith might have some bearing on the content of the site. I've lurked some over there, never saying anything. Seems like, I guess it's Chris's wife, keeps a pretty tight grip on things. I've seen her disintegrate intruders before
I haven't had a chance to fully explore Dawn as a figure, too distracted by other things. I've seen some nice things though. Definitely curious about Dawn 2. I have some of the Hivewire Animals, of course. Kind of mandatory really.
https://www.christophercreekart.com/
As far as the forums at 'rotica go. I think there would be too many distractions, tripping over writhing bodies and such, and p**n is only interesting for 10 minutes at best and then it's time for bed
And it's not as OT as you might think, a place for artists to talk or share ideas without fear of being stomped on by authorities or in control cliques... or little clubs. And little boxes of how things "should be done". Especially if the ideas being expressed are harmless. I think most artists just avoid that altogether, by not visiting or posting at all, for those very reasons. The silent majority. Guess that was my point there.

Now that's excellent news! Hopefully it doesn't break existing clothing units too badly. I just finished testing alembic import into Blender 2.82 from P 11.3 myself. As I'm still a very new user of Blender (and have never grokked the UI) I don't have any renders yet. However, the animation itself imported and worked. This was LaFemme Pro animated with two of the DAZ bellydance aniblocks (and no, they don't work out of the box. You will have to adjust several values to put LF on her feet and uncrumpled). Izetta Dynamic hair by Adorana came in it seems as point cloud geometry, but it was there and mobile. ODL's loin cloth and Diolma's veil imported and functioned as well. Now the caveat. This was an 869 frame animation, and the .abc file was 38 gigs. But the geometry came in and held together. So now I can experiment with Mantaflow.
Oh. It took about 20 minutes to export from Poser, and the program became 'not responding' for most of that time.
Sigh. The pipeline just gets longer and longer.

I uploaded an image to my ShareCG gallery about 2 weeks ago. Basically just a quick joke render of a La Femme morph I did. Nothing I'd keep, perhaps a little shocking, more likely just dumb... but, in the context of the moment I created it, sort of relevant in a sarcastic way.
Anyway I received this email telling me the image is rejected long after the fact, and consequently removed by admins over there. I'm a little disturbed by it, but nothing I'd lose sleep over. The question is, is this ART? Is it obscene? Or is it just grotesque? Any random thoughts would be interesting to me. Just try to keep the insults at a dull roar, the "ART" image took about 15 minutes to make and was meant as a joke...
Thanks
The offending image...
