Sounds like some of the objects are poly heavy and high-resolution textures. Have you checked the Material Room for proper node connections? This is set is not P12 tested. I do own it but it is not currently in my runtime ATM.

With the introduction of Superfly, I reworked the materials for Urban Future, Urban Future 2, Urban Future 3, and other Stonemason sets, and made the materials Superfly-friendly and made the signs and lights mesh lights. There are a lot of invalid material node connections in the original materials (OK for Firefly, invalid for Superfly). That might account for delayed loading; P12 shouldn't crash because of it, however. I'll try rendering it in P12 when I get back; I'm going to escort some of the neighborhood teens on a bike ride (parents like to have at least one armed adult with the young'uns).

I loaded my Superfly version of Urban Future 2 in P12; when I tried to render (Superfly), Poser crashed.

Hmmm, no minidump, no WER. I copied the info from the crash notice popup. I'll need to do some experimenting.

if you got any ambient occlusion nodes plugged in anywhere the render will crash. AO is not supported and not needed with PBR. Might be other nodes doing the nasty but since you'll likely have hundreds of mat zones to check you'll have your work cut out for you finding the issue.

AO nodes haven't been crashing for me in superfly, it just results in an all-black render. Your mileage may vary. Still need to remove those nodes though. It would be better if Poser just knew to ignore them. But anyway, I don't know that the symptom matches here.

@ghostship2 ; I eliminated every AO node (there were a lot) when I modified it for the first Superfly release, so it wasn't that. This time I deleted a lot of reflect nodes and even a few gather nodes (circa P5!), and used more dual root material setups to use the PhysicalSurface root for metals.

I'll need to make some simpler model to test which node/nodes is causing the crash.

But here is a P12 Superfly render of Urban Future 2:

Urban Future 2 P12 Sfly test.jpg

There are umpteen subsidiary props in this set, and many have a dozen or more material zones, so forget about a MAT file. However, I did save the modified prop set out as a PP2, and after removing Stonemason's OBJs and JPGs, zipped it up as a PP2. Assuming one has Urban Future 2, they will be able to open and use my re-textured version. I'll get that posted to freebies.

I've made some corrections to this package, and added some pieces (interior room, hallways, meshlight ceiling light fixtures). The new zip is "mod5e".
