You didn't mention the "incredible" price... World Builder 3 Standard is twice the price of Bryce 4, while the Professional version is FIVE times the price. Although, I will admit the World Builer renders can look pretty darned great if in the right hands. But, if I were to spend the money... For $400 I would upgrade to Bryce 5 and Poser Pro Pack. For $1000...I would probably opt for Cinema 4D Art maybe, something like that. Bryce 4 is like the .22 caliber of the 3D world...cheap(est) and loads `o fun. I have seen some great renders from some of the World Builder people, hope you can master it. I would really like to see a compared render output from both World Builder and Bryce, just to see. "WB offers no support for the Mac. So, I offer them none of my dollars." I Hear you man I have Done rather well lately career wise which has allowed me to own Lightwave 6.5 Cinema 4DX7 and of course Bryce 4.1 So broad thinking companies Like Newtek and maxon will continue to get mine and many other mac owners Hard earned Cash. World Builder does animations with wind blowing through the trees and grass. You can drop things into the water and it will make the water ripple in rings. It has animated ocean waves that have that thin foamy slice of water that slides back off the shore into the ocean after the wave recedes. Rivers that have rocks sticking up out of them, leave a rippling wake on the down stream side of the rocks. Animated wakes that you can use on boats, etc. You can "float" things in the water and they'll move down stream with the current. The caustics that can be applied to the animated water, looks SO real it will make you drool.

but I purchased World Builder 3, and I must admit, it's quite incredible. Granted, I'm still using Bryce 4, as I just posted a new wip. However, I started fiddling with it yesterday and today (got it monday). I don't do the number crunching stats about render times, etc., like other may want or need...I can tell you, for those interested, 1) WB3 has more to offer with all types of foliage 2) A much faster renderer, that DOES utilize you cards and systems 3d capabilities...not just cpu 3) WB3 is a real "windows" interface and is MUCH better for dual monitor setups...however, 1) bryce has more community support for free models, etc. 2) the added foliage for WB3 is just easier...i don't care what others say...you can make all those nifty flower and all in bryce if you take your time 3) I STILL like the way bryce renders...i don't care if it does take 3 days :) lol. that's all i have to comment on for now...more to come for those that want to know after the weekend...maybe i'll post an image of an imported poser figure in WB3...then the same exact scene in Bryce...with render times and output size, etc. Hope you guys are ok with me to post here...sometimes the poser board lives up to its name (don't flame me...I'm INNOCENT) :) Bryan
