I'm not a newbie in importing OBJ and 3DS to Poser but why does 3DExploration (I'm still testing the shareware 1.7) break the geometries of a VRML-file if I export it to 3DS or OBJ for use in Poser? The same (CAD-VRML-OBJ/3DS) works fine within 3DSMax but sometimes max crashes if I use too complex geometries... Is there a "trick" to use the 3DExploration-files in Poser without having those problems?

That looks to be a smoothing problem. Triangulated models sometimes appear that way in poser. I don't know of a good solution, but raising the resolution of the mesh might help. -Jeff

I have found that COB to OBJ in 3DExplorer produces an out of range UV error in UVMapper. Where as a Poser OBJ export does not. Also try using the Split Vertices option in UVMapper to sharpen the edges.
Not sure if this is the problem that you are refering to, or if you knew this already, but it may help others reading the thread.
