Subject: Splitting model for textures?

I hate how Bryce has a texture, for say, a mountain, and you put it on a terrain...And it stretches it...I think it looks terrible... Now, if I create my own texture, and import it into Bryce, is there any way to "split" the model into sections and put each texture into the different section? Or is there any way to stop it from stretching/making it look better WITH the stretching? such as, rendering a different way, messing with the texture editor, etc Thanks!

Yes, in the Material Editor, for each channel on the right side, there is a tab called mapping mode. It will let you switch the texture's orientation in about 20 different ways, from World Space to Object Space and on down. I've found these options to be extremely helpful in my Castle Darkmoor, as some of the negatives are cylinders and thus needed to be mapped differently than the squares (in that case I Spherically mapped the cylinders...)

Sorry, that button got obscured. Its the bottom right down arrow on the texture box that I have pictured. See where it says "Parametric Se..." just before the image of the pull down box? Yours might say "World Space" or "Object Space" and there's a down arrow to the right.

On the pic in above answer you see a button on top left( where the brown woodpic is) open and you can scale your texture anyway you want. that fixes the problem with stretched textures

Ok, I found it (thanks) but now everything is VERY dark...Is there any way to fix that? BTW...I'm using a terrain (mountain) with the "Whole Mountain" texture as a test thgeisel: I have played with that a little...But I end up getting the beach on the top of the mountain and other stuff I dont really need...But thanks (I'll need that in the future) Thanks
