All you posers...Do you realy have so little imagination??? every time i reload the gallery there is a new image. Oh what a surprise a NUDE WOMAN...i think the last 1000 pages was mainly nude women...or is it just me? next time ill skip poser gallary and just go to a porn web site instead. Come one be a little more creative, you can do much more then just nude women in it. I browsed the gallerys 10 first pages, and i found like 5 intressting images, the rest was either nude women (95%) or nude men (4%) its realy annoying a big bramble bouqet to you all!

Hmm. You must have a different definition for nudity than I do. I just took a quick browse through the Poser gallery and out of the first 50 posts there I counted 38 as non-nudes and 12 as nudes. Of course I did not count head close ups as nudes, even though I could see no clothes, nor skeletons though technically I guess they were naked. You know, Poser is a piece of software that allows artists to create art with the Human body as the center piece hence the name, Poser. It should not surprise folks that some of that art is going to involve nudity. I went to the Art Mart the other day (an art supply store here in town), and I'll easily wager that there were many more books on its' shelves percentage wise on how to draw the Human body, complete with nude illustrations, than what I just found in the gallery here. The same can be said for the St. Louis Art Museum, which greets visitors in its main rotunda with a huge sculpture of a nude male. People have been drawing, molding, carving, sculpting and painting the nude Human figure since time immemorial. Why would that change in the digital era? I will grant you that the Most Viewed is heavily tilted towards nudes. But that is more a comment on the viewers than on the artists now, isn't it? If you want to encourage art sans nudity, vote for what you like, visit non-nude postings, and most importantly comment on and encourage the artists that appeal to you. If I had gone to the gallery hoping to find porn just now, I would have been sorely disappointed. jon

I really DO admire the lack of nudity in your gallery Odin, keep up the good work... Maxx

For most of our existence as a separate species, we've been showing the human body as nude: cave paintings, bas-reliefs, sculptures are all very naked and VERY fertile. It isn't until we congregated in cities that artists started routinely showing the human form covered up. Please note that if I were god and had created people, I'd have a special stash of lightning bolts to zap anyone who thought my handiwork was ugly or shameful. Carolly

It's just so damned hard getting the clothes to stay on the little buggers.... Nudes are easier.

I'm new to this community, and still unsure of the quality of my work. I share it anyway, and look for good feedback. I'd already decided not to do nudes on my own web site, to avoid the controversy over that. But nudes are acceptable at Renderosity. We are talking about tasteful portrayals of the nude body.... No outright bad taste or pornography. I can't help notice the nudes get hundreds of views while the non-nudes get a lot less. So I'll stick a nude or two in my Renderosity gallery... It's a relief not messing with misbehaving clothes... and I'll take a view extra views into my gallery. Once someone is there, they will hopefully see the other art.

Now this is interesting. I did a search in the galleries for Odin, and there is none. So does Odin have more than one identity?

etep ( ) posted Sun, 18 November 2001 at 2:55 AM

if Odin does not like ""nudes"" why does Odin keep looking?????????

Odin ( ) posted Sun, 18 November 2001 at 7:53 AM

i dont keep looking, i did before but to few images apeal to me, i checked out the gallary yesterday or the day before, and i found like 3-4 images in 5-6 pages that where good. I dont mind nudity, but those many of those i have seen dont show the nudity in a tastful way, i have found nude images that are very good, but most (i have seen) just want to center the whole images on the boobs or some such and not the whole of it. And i did have a gallary, i put some images up to see the rating, and to no surprise i got some 10s...even though they wherent even finnished. So everyone STOP GIVING EVERYTHING A 10!, anyway i removed the images because i didt like them so much, i will post some sometime, but i just installed win XP and i have to reinsltall everythning...sux.

Excuse me, but I say the nudes are tasteful. There are no pictures of spread-eagled women holding their crotches open, or making lewd gestures. There are no graphic depictions of sex acts. Tasteful nudes we have. And usually good art too.

Hi, I'm with Bladesmith, nudes are easier, (especially when you so much trouble getting stuff to conform, like I'm doing..) the fact that for a great many men, (apparently married "30 something" males are the biggest users of porn on the net) women look better that way, simply makes it easier to get people to look, and hopefully comment on, thier work. That said, the best stuff I've seen in the galleries, has all been clothed, but that's because of postwork, at which I suck... ;) later jb

I understood when my wife objected somewhat to all the nudes I was doing for my own amusement. But now she talks about the ones in bikinis being somehow offensive. Geesh

praxis22 ( ) posted Wed, 21 November 2001 at 3:39 AM

Hi, Yeah, and once you start putting them in crew necks she'll complain about the makeup :) In a breakthrough in understanding, after almost 25 years of research, I think I now know what it is women want!!! Namely, "thier own way" which changes from moment to moment, depending on the weather, the woman & the phase of the moon ;) Not that this information has ever done me much good in my dealings with women. I figure they must must be related to "the Shadow" both in the "knowing what evil lurks in the hearts of men" part, but especially the ability to "cloud" men's minds :P later jb

"I understood when my wife objected somewhat to all the nudes I was doing for my own amusement."

One of the reasons I only get involved with bisexual women who can actually understand that looking at pretty people is a good thing. They tend to get much less annoyed by my "Maxim" subscription.

Remember folks, they key to a good relationship is a shared fetish! :) :) :)

Odin ( ) posted Thu, 22 November 2001 at 6:29 AM

ummm, this topic is about to much nudity in poser gallary....not fetishism and theroies on how women think:)
