Also - what is the difference/similarities/pros/cons between a MOR pose file and a MAT pose file?

MAT pose files only apply materials to a figure, MOR poses apply morphs :)

What about FBM's? How would I inject Full Body Morph entries into a Pose file? For example: I did a character based on (#O_O#) me... with the Thin and Muscular body morphs set to 1.0 and 0.25, respectively. How would I imbed that in the pose file?

I did this by saving the character as a cr2 and as a pz2. Then using EditPad, copied the settings for "Pear Shape" and other dials that I tweaked into the pz2.

This is the zero MOR pose I have for Victoria 2. Copy the whole thing to notepad and save as a .pz2. That's the master version you can edit. To add any full body morph, just change the second 0 to the value you want to use. e.g. valueParm Faerie { keys { k 0 0 } } changes to valueParm Faerie { keys { k 0 0.800 } } Just do that for each dial you want to use. Well, I figured it out, and was able to save my Mike2 character as a pose file. Awesome!

I'm almost at the point of understanding all this. Would you accomplish the same thing if you used Morph Manager to copy only the morphs you made into a "blank or null" version of your figure? I got started in something to make Null Figures out of my Marlin characters to avoid crosstalk. Unfortunately the project was never finished.

Actually, yes and no, Ron. What I was referring to is the fact that while other morphs settings can be saved in a pose file, Full Body Morph settings cannot. By adding in the prefix dealing with Body, they can. As for morphs contained entirely in the Pose file, that was what the earlier discussion is about. Truth be told, all of the different files (pose, prop, character, etc) are all the same except for details. A character CR2 can be renamed a PP2 and moved to the prop library and still be posable. Geometry and weld information can be removed from a CR2 and turned into a Mor MOR Pose file. So if we include the target geometry or the actual mesh details inside a pose file, it will keep them as a new morph channel, even if moved to a different system.

By adding in the prefix dealing with Body, they can. these full body morphs are just controllers to other morphs on the figure, right? and poses of the "Body" are not normally saved by Poser.... so, what if these fbms were moved to a different part of the body so that they ARE saved? eg in the hip? i just realised this problem myself when i tried to save a figure setting using fbms. applied the pose and saw that it lost the settings for stuff i had used fbms for. whatta waste of time. but i'll only make this mistake once. sigh
