Ok, I know how to use bump maps on my figures, but is there a way to create a bump map of a rendered (or pre-rendrered) scene? Whereas a figure, or group of figures, is rendered not based on lighting effects, but on positioning within the ground field. I'd prefer a smooth gradient from front (white) to back (black), but would settle for a staggered, contour map effect as well. The only alternative I've figgured is using a flat plain perpendicular to to the ground plain that Is incrementally moved backwards, exposing more of the figure. Each of these renders would then have to be overlayed in photoshop to create the desired effect. Is there a simpler way that I'm just missing? How About in a different rendering program? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, KierPhelan Joel B. Talacko

Have you tried using the "hither" parameter dial for the camera that you are using, and doing multiple renders to achieve your desired effect? ;=]

Is this a "Depth Cue" thing? You know, that feature in the pull-down menu we never use. I'm confused. Can you show us a pic?

The "hither" of the camera is being increased from the upper left to the lower right. The "setup" (shown in the center) has no "hither." cheers, dr geep ;=]
