Subject: What is a reasonable amount of time to allow for a vendor "fix"?

movida ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 10:19 AM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 11:12 PM

I purchased a character which requires a fix (no names...yet). Anyway, the fix was promised 2/21/02...again on 3/4/02. Nothing yet. I realize that vendors have other things to do...don't we all, but what is a reasonable amount of time to allow before I start screaming on the "feedback" form? g

Heck... I'd ask for my money back and then buy it again when it was fixed. Credit cards are wonderful for that as they protect consumers against vendors who don't deliver what was promised...namely... a working product.

Not longer then a week. ______ Have you read the TOS today?

movida ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 10:52 AM

I sent an email today stating that if I didn't get the promised fix in a week I'm going to start yelling. We'll see...thanks for your input.

movida, make sure to send Clint in the MP a copy also.

thanks Judith...will do

I would imagine it would depend on how "Broke" it is. Some things can be fixed in a hour, or two. But sometimes, there is no resonable fix (I had this happen once here) However the vendor hooked me up with aternative once they found there was no decent fix to that problem. But, I would say about a week or two should be plenty of time for any vendor to know if a fix will work. I would say by now, you should have had at least a ETA of somekind.

pendarian ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 1:15 PM

Lee, she did have two eta's given but nothing was ever produced. I would have been rattling a cage about three weeks after it didn't come forth, that is plenty of time for the vendor to at the very least be able to tell you if it's even fixable or not. Yes, vendors do get very busy on other projects but if you are having trouble getting something fixed on the one already out where is the incentive to buy from them a second time? Good luck, I hope you get it resolved quickly. Pendy

Well, being an understanding type of person (oh...give me a break!) I didn't need the character yet, but now I'm going to need it shortly, so I figured I've been pretty patient but before I go off the deep end I'd ask what you (vendors and those more experienced than myself) consider reasonable. Thanks for all your input, the problem is that I don't want my money back, I really like the character and it is usable but not in closeups which is a major bummer.

I had a problem with a product a while back. I imediately yanked it from the MP and spent the next 2 days with little to no sleep fixing it. But then had to wait 6 days for the MP to retest it.

caleb68 ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 9:04 PM

if ya find any problems with my stuff just let me know, i try to make a fix for them as quickly as possible, sometimes the fix is even posted same day :)

movida ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 10:37 PM

It's neither of you (EA or caleb68). I didn't want to get everyone paranoid s I sent an email today advising the vendor that if I didn't hear anything within a week I'd post negative feedback. I'll try to do something with the character on my own if that happens. Thanks again

ElectricAardvark ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 10:45 PM

No...I knew it wasn't me. I was just pointing out that the person should move their but, or spoil their reputation.

caleb68 ( ) posted Sun, 24 March 2002 at 10:57 PM

i was just letting ya know ;) just incase ya do run across a prob with one of mine :) like right now, im working on making my MAT files for the millenium girl teen package poser pro pack compatable :)

If the revised product is held up in testing, ask if the vendor can send the fix to you directly or post it somewhere for you to download.

Hi gryffnn: the character has the problem discussed this this thread, when I saw the post I thought "great, now I'll be able to fix her", but, couldn't get it. Then I sent my first email to the vendor. I'll see what happens. Dina also had a similar neck problem that Diane fixed.

movida ( ) posted Mon, 25 March 2002 at 11:45 PM

I got an email from the vendor. It seems the fix settings had been mailed and I was missed. Got it now, I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks all
