This is a shot of an Articulated Helmet prop I'm working on. The sheild swings up. I think it needs a texture though...What do ya think?

looks great! a good texture would do some good tho

My thought would be to move the pivot point back so the visor sort of sweeps back over the head so it's more balanced. The present revision would be like a welder's helmet and would need little gas-pressurized struts to stay open.

Good work!!!That is a prop we all longed for.Hmmm...think about making few small "breathing holes" in the cheeks of the mask...:)

Excellent job DEL, although I agree the face-plate needs some airholes Paul

That looks brilliant. Imacken: I used to be a welder, never had a gas powered mask though, electronic lenses yes, gas powered no.

Yeah, I would like a tutorial on that as well.

Sorry getting back to you guys took so long, Was busy yesterday. I would love to do a tutorial! As long as you understand that most of the work (modeling) was actually done in another program. The creation of an articulated prop is done in poser in the sense that the modeled pieces are brought in and put together, then added to the library. But, If that is indeed what you guys were talking about. I'll do it. :)

studio187 ( ) posted Thu, 02 March 2000 at 8:47 PM

I can do that already. I was hopeing you could fill me in on how to attach an OBJ to it for texturing purposes. Additionaly, when you add it to the library will you be adding it as a character? I don't think you can make a prop with two pieces from the Poser interface.

DEL ( ) posted Sun, 05 March 2000 at 7:13 PM

Yes it would be a figure or "articulated prop" Using the grouping tool you can set the texture for two seperate Objs in poser, then export them as a single object. Re-import them and they retain the texture group names. Or Group and texture name them them parent one to the other and create an articulated prop and both pieces will retain the texture names.
