Subject: Missing DL Buttons

brian71us ( ) posted Mon, 05 August 2002 at 8:22 PM · edited Thu, 01 August 2024 at 10:11 PM

Hello, A vendor sent out an e-mail saying that his product had been updated. I went to my account page and downloaded that update. However, while I was there I noticed that some of the other items that I purchased no longer have a download button. I was just curious what can cause that. Does this mean that the item is no longer available on Renderosity? Or that it is temporarily unavailable? Thanks, Brian Wheatley

That means that you DL'ed the file. Once a successful DL happens the DL button goes away. Clint

I'm not sure I follow you. When I go to my "purchases" page there is a download button for each of the items that I purchased. With the exception of about three items. Are you saying that once an item has been downloaded that the download button is supposed to disappear? If so, that's not happening. In fact, I downloaded a number of the items again the other day to see if any of the other items had been updated. I found out that one of the vendors had put up an update but I'd never received a notification. I thought that I was able to go back and download again (in the event of a hard drive failure, etc.). Brian, After 3 attempts the button will go away. I would suggest you DL all of your products and archive them. We have the following policy in place in regards to product availability. "Product availability : Once a product has been purchased and downloaded the customer has accepted the merchandise. Renderosity will try to make the product available for future downloads if needed but we can not guarantee the product will be available. We suggest that you archive your purchases after downloading them." All of your past purchases have been reset. Clint

I'm not complaining and I don't have any issues with the policy. All of the items that I have purchased are now archived to DVD-R. Like I stated in my initial post, I was just curious why certain items had the DL buttons and others didn't. I wasn't sure if that was because The Tailor is now only available from DAZ3D, that type of thing. I appreciate the fact that you do try to keep the downloads available to us whenever possible. Because of this, I decided right from the start that anything I buy will be purchased from Renderosity. The only time I purchase things from other online stores is if it's something that I can't buy here. Even though I do have the items recorded to DVD I'm still paranoid about losing them. Thanks, Brian
