Subject: Set surface fidelity of primitive cylinder, Carrara 1.1?

Is there any to smooth surface fidelity of primitive cylinders in Carrara 1.1? At large sizes they become polygonal. So far all I've been able to do is create cylinders in the spline modeler or convert the primitives to vertex objects and subdivide. Neither work around is elegant, and the extra steps are killing me. Shouldn't a primitive be mathematically perfect at all sizes? Any ideas?

In the vertix modeler you can "insert" cylinder from the pull-down window & it will ask for size & number of sides, no need to sub-divide, just try a couple settings & see what works best for your scale. You could experiment with the "blur" feature in the properties window also, however it will create smooth edges.

Cool, I'll give the vertex modeler idea a shot the next time I need to. I've already created a master spline cylinder and I can change fidelity on the fly. I tried the blur feature but it was hard to control the size of the result. Thanks!
