Subject: UF3 + ENR Flame ucl = Thread Out of Memory error?

Is anyone else besides me getting these? I have 384 meg at work and 1 gig at home and I get these errors on both machines. Even if I replace the gradient (when you import a UPR from Apophysis it has about 200 points) with a simple gradient with 3-4 points, I still get these errors.

yes, from what i've tried myself, and what i've seen on the ultrafractal list, the flame ucl is extremely memory intensive and will max out most all systems...

I had this message when rendering to disk, didn't know what it meant so I just kept closing the little box till the rendering finished, luckily it still turned out fine.

Hi, My first post in this forum.
So, my trick to avoid the memory error is to go lightly when adjusting the gradient. Make a very quick adjustment then wait for the calculation to complete before making the next adjustment. I have also found it helpful to use the Gradient- adjust colors panel. This works for me. I hope it does for you too.
mt has stated several times on the UF list that it is not a good idea to render flames to disk. I think he said that anti-aliasing wasn't designed for flames and that they just take up too much memory. Hope this helps
