Like last week, I decided to close the week with a sunrise. At the beginning of this past May, you may recall that Lisa and I took a short vacation to St. Augustine, FL. It is a beautiful historic town (one of the oldest in the USA) located just inside the intercoastal waterway. Our first night there we stayed at a hotel on the Atlantic and in the morning walked down to the beach for the sunrise. I was able to take this photo at that time. It was a great start to a wonderful, and much needed, getaway. I'm finally getting to those photos now, and will do a series for you of the various sites and areas of interest we visited in St. Augustine. We didn't get to see everything, ...but I guess that leaves something for next time, right? :o) ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your owlish comments on yesterday's photo, Owl Butterflies. I think we've seen enough butterflies for now, but I'll be sure to revisit these beautiful creatures in the future.

I see a fence that is buried in the sand to hold the sand from washing away, I guess. A beautiful sunrise and a welcomed sight for us out here since we have been socked in, in heavy overcast these last 5 days. Temperatures are way down to, considering it is Indian Summer. Perfect though to go out and finish photographing a project of mine. Sorry for the novel here. Have a great weekend Kort.

OMG, this is STUNNING, Kort! So beautifully composed, and such a brilliant sky!!! Kemal and i LOVE St. Augustine and thought about moving there at one time. still thinking about it! hehe! i think it is the oldest city in the U.S., and i dunno...something about that place is so special!!! I sure am looking forward to this series!!!! Did you get any shots from the top of the lighthouse??? What about any from the historic part of town???? Sorry...i'm just DYING to see this pictures! Beautiful shot! I love St.Augustine, the only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't get into the old cemetary in the middle of town. Magnificent sunrise, the clouds are just terrific!
