Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

These colors are wonderful Jan-Carel!What is that blue in the back?Do you ever see gentians? They are the only 'true' blue flowers, and are impossible to grow here,(New York).I think they are an alpine...This capture is an amazement to me.Such beauty...in a glacial environment? It's inspiring to say the least!

Its a joy to see these beautiful flowers especially at the heights you are at next to the glaciers. And now for your decent, it is a very painful step. Muscles that you normally don't use are now being worked going down hill and starts to strain and shake. Feels like your legs are about to collapse. You try to adjust your self from going straight down hill, stepping sideward at times. Yes, meniscus almost always hurt. But using the walking stick sure helps a lot and a lot of times help prevent you from falling. Your toe nails are not to be forgotten too..... With this, I've learn to appreciate it even more for all what you and Wim have gone thru to capture these beautiful pictures. Cheers to you both. Excellent.... Aloha

;-D wonderful colours

Yes downhills will begin in your shins. Perhaps for the truly experienced the meniscus is the location. Where I grew up no one even measured the hills. There was only the Pinnebog or the drainage ditches to give any elevation change. Flowers like this drew on experiences in the green house where the scent in winter with the heat on was overpowering.

Im just amazed that anything will grow on that altitude...amongst glaciers no less. And such beautiful things even...that is amazing. Ive always thought going downhill is far more exhausting that going up, lol. If i had to chose between a steep hill going upwards or downwards...id pick the....the one leading back to my car, LOL. Have a great day pal! #:O)
