Description

Unfortunately my camera starts to get an attitude. The transporter (still manual) does not work properly and I can't hardly transport the film to the next exposure, so my camera blocks. I decide to change film, maybe it solves the problem. Unfortunately it does not and it leaves me only one capture to shoot, the one you see here right now. :( The bright side of this sad event is that it happens just at the end of our vacation, and I have had the opportunity to shoot some nice pictures anyway. :) I pass the Monte Leone Huts after enjoying a lunch while the sun shines now and then, I go a little higher until I reach the border of Switzerland with Italy at a height of about 2900 meters (about 9500 feet). Many rocks of different compositions attract my attention and I take several of them with me to show them at home. It's cold here and the landscape is rugged. Time to go down. There is an alternative track but I've not so much time so I return taking the same track. I pass the lake once again and now I can shoot it (with the last exposure available) with the glacier and the pass on the left. This is the end of the series of Monte Leone. Thank you so much for you enthusiastic comments, I'm never alone anymore but I have always you RR people in my mind while I hike in the mountains! :) Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 28 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

The drama of the glacier "rushing" over the cliff into the waiting arms of the clouds sums up the experience well.

That's hard.... when you have problem with the cam or the film. Then last shot in altitude, but what shot ;o)))) I like to see the glacier and the lake in the same time. There's something good in the fact you can't use your camera after that : then you could appreciate Il Monte dei Leoni in another way just admiring the landscape and this magic place ;o)))) It seems always more cold here ! Another fantastic serie Jan-Carel, thank you ! Have a very good day. Hugs. V

WOW!! No wonder your images are so fantastic. Sensia 100. That's an amazing choice. Maybe I need to check into that too. I'm sad to hear your camera was acting up on you. That really sucks when there's basically nothing you can do about it. Atleast you were able to get this last shot in. I've really enjoyed the trip also. If it wasn't for your images... I'd have never seen this part of the world. Jan-Carel, Thank You from the bottom of my heart. It's been a real pleasure.

too bad about your camera. I had a similar problem at the Valley of Fire in Nevada. I thought my batteries was charged but they went dead in my carrying case. I now carry extra regular batteries. incredible view and capture my friend
