I was going to crop him but I thout the land around him look like there is where he belongs

The surrounding environment is perfect...it gives us information on how and where he lives. It does not look to safe to me. An alligator could pop out of the water at any moment to snatch him up!
B_PEACOCK
I think it looks perfect just the way it is .Awesome shot Jock

Wonderful shot with the reflection and all.

great shot, not a Pelican as pjkweb said and not making itself big but drying its wings, in dutch its called aalscholver, local fishermen hate them and blame them for the lack of eal over here.

Beautiful capture of nature as it really is. The bird in its natural habitat is an ideal situation, you got some really excellent reflections on the water also, looks like a place gators could be lurking. Excellent work jock.

Nice color, POV and DOF in this shot, JOCKO! The bird, whatever it is, reminds me of the Phoenix that rose from the ashes to live again, but in this case it rose from the water. Also reminds me of the bird on the seal of Roosevelt's National Recovery Act.

looks like a commerant and it is drying it's wings. I can not see the hooked bill that Commerants has but they do spread their wings to dry. they have no oil in the feathers like water fowls.an excellent capture Jock.
