Description
I put a frame around this because I posted it first at a site with a black background. Wondering what it will like here with the white bg.
Also seems that I have the shields mixed around. The Roman on the ground whould have the kneeling shield while the German/barbarian should have the round. Thanks to Professor Hopalong for that history lesson ;)
This is what happens when you let artistic license take over :) Lol!
I'm off to see Path to Terabithia with friends today. I'm hoping that it is a fun, fantasy get away for the afternoon. Enjoy your week ending!!

Thanks everyone! I did go heavy on the background blur because I had trouble making the forward figures stand out without over lighting them. I was going for that bloody, brooding evening look....like a fight way into the end of the day...when everyone is exhausted and bloody. I hope I kind of got that feeling a bit...it's dark for sure, lol.

About the shields .. did you remind your Professor Hopalong that if a shield is lost or destroyed, one picks up the nearest shield .. no doubt that happened here! Mere coincidence that both protagonists happen to have picked up the wrong shields, as it were! And there is "artistic license", as you said. And perhaps this is an alternate dimension? I love the dark, brooding atmosphere, it emphasizes war and blood and misery so much more then bright sunshine or clear evening skies would have. Your image is perfect as it stands!
