Description

this is the state line of Oklahoma and Texas.you are looking toward Texas.I have never seen the river this high and Lake Texoma, Denison Dam just to the right about 4 miles has only been so high twice since it was built in the 1940's.it has been over flowing the overflow dam with the main gates wide open.the bridge is a railroad and the US Highway 75 is just to the right.of course before the dam was built the river left it's banks many times flooding the valley for miles in both directions thanks for having a look and any comments

The river high from your recent heavy rains? Red River reminds me of the 1948 movie, RED RIVER, with John Wayne and Montgomery Clift. Great POV, DOF and perspective in this overcast day capture of the erector set bridge, spanning way off into the distance.

I cannot believe such an important bridge is in such a run down state Richard. I wish we had, had time to visit such interesting places, whilst we were over there. Excellent capture Sir! Steve :o)

Still cant believe how high it got and i have been through it here in gainesville. I saw the river from my side at the I-35 bridge and was completely amazed. Hope you and yours are okay and still dry.

I hope the shoot out was with cameras and not guns #;0) Great shot, I love these sort of bridges with all the iron girders, very photogenic. I love it. These are indeed worrying times with regard to water levels, I believe this June was one of the wettest on record.
