Description
Ultrafractal 4.02 -- Photoshop 7 (to sharpen UF texture)
A little break from the geofractal "cubish" stuff. This'n here is one that was a further build of this one - http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1203852
- that I'd posted elsewhere but 4got to put over here. I was all jazzed making the big, funky looking "leaves" and had come up with a couple more and a different overall color scheme for the piece. I recently added a different texture than the lined Thingies stock one on the "bird" (bird??? freaken fractallists! We sure do make some imaginative stretches to liken our shapes to "real" things! lol) in the "Macaw" image. You can do some neat things to UF textures by exporting them unrendered and sharpening them b4 overlaying them onto the rendered fractal if you have PSP or PS. Helpful, as well, to get an idea how they might look printed on watercolor or other textured media like canvas. And...great googly-moogly! Is that a SPHERE??? (Please don't tell the monks over at the Halls of Purity - they think I'm "cured" - lol)
BTW - when I called it a "piece" - I haven't all of a sudden gotten all huffy-puffy. I just had the thought that calling them "images" restricts them to the confines of these glowing boxes they're too often "trapped" in. Gotta get 'em out where they belong - printed and hanging proudly on the wall next to the other "pieces" that traditional artists nail up after ruining their carpet spilling paint on the floor when they made them - lol.
Thanks for stopping by and for your MUCH appreciated encouragement and faves on my art! Sssshhhh - try to be a little quiet because the "baby" is still sleeping inside the round "egg". :-)

This is really wonderful stuff, but IMHO the strong texture destroys some of the superior quality. Nevertheless a very good "piece"...

An enchanting and beautiful image, Rick, and your work is outstanding in every respect. What a treat!

beautiful coloring!

I don't think that the texture hurts the quality. The problem is, and this is tiny, that because of the texture, the image looks like it was printed on paper, except the sphere, so the sphere sort of doesn't fit. Maybe just a hint of texture in the sphere would help. This texture is your unique trademark so stick with it.

This is just beautiful in your usual super great style. However, you have to be a glutton for punishment with that many layers! - Nancy

I love this piece!! And that's just what it is, a piece of art. A beautiful one too, and I adore the little egg, all safely tucked in there midst the soft and lovely blooms and foliage. Oh .. I'm sorry, I didn't wake the little one, did I? The Halls of Purity? Never been near it.
