Description

I was downtown Dallas the other day taking pictures around the American Airlines sports arena and a new hotel across the street.mind you I was on a public sidewalk.some huge gorilla in a suit and walky talky comes out and asks if I have credentials for photography.I asked why, I am on a public sidewalk.he tried to tell me I could not take pictures of the hotel..I told him as long as I am on a public sidewalk, I will take pictures of anything I want.it is right in a huge tourist attraction and they are crazy for trying to enforce such a rule.I was polite but I wanted to tell him to go to hell, but he was about 6-4and 300# so I did not-haha thanks for viewing and any comments when viewing this picture I get the sensation of falling backwards.be forewarned!!!

Give some of these guys a walkie talkie and it goes to their head. I would have gone inside the hotel and asked for the manager and tell him I was going to book into the hotel but the security guys attitude made me change my mind. I have had my fair share of run ins with this type of person. Great image, fantastic pov, it makes you sit up and take notice. I thought at first you must have been laying down to take it. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Nice shot, love anything that has to do with planes. What a shame they harrassed you about a camera, goodness knows what a terible thing that is. Who would;ve thought you cuold get in trouble with a camers when people can carry guns and knives and bombs on a plane.

Very nice PoV. Congrats for your 'cool'-blood attitude. People are really stupid. We can see but we can't take picture in a public environment ? Just the same in some countries like Tunisia... it's just that overthere it's not a gorilla that comes and asks you, no, it's a MP with guns. Very impressive.

Welcome to Fascist Amerika ... the public proclamations and discussions regarding torture, extraordinary rendition, and the gutting of the Constitution are made public to instill fear. It's all a facade to maintain control of the American populace. Keep in mind that, on average, the death toll on American highways per year is about 43,000 with many times more seriously injured. How many people are killed by so-called terrorists each year in this country? Fear is the only tool "the powers that be" have over us. Anyway, excellent photo.

Great photo, Richard, I dont kno the place After 11/8 becomes hard be journalist or photographer, the level of paranoia - and autoristarism not justified-grouth to incredible levels! I thin only North Corea is forbiden take photos of a simple hotel And I am not sure!

Nice picture, you should gotten one of Dallas finest, and put the gorilla back in his cage. Can you imagine if he had told a Dallas morning news photographer, they could not take pictures in a public place. The gorilla and his hotel would have made the front page, and not in a good way. I like to watch the STARS here, ice hockey in Texas, that's cool. Todd
