Description

Some days ago I posted this portrait: thumb_1597485.jpg "Shepherd of Dragons" is the scene for which I originally created this character. I wanted to make a dragon shepherd but I didnt want anyone magical. I wanted "brute force" but I also wanted someone that could be real. I thought the contrast between mythical creatures and a real person could work well. With the orderly formation of the dragons I wanted to express the total control the shepherd has over his creatures. I used the same clouds that I created for the last image in my series "Road to Tertius". I made the mountains manually with geocontrol, no presets. Dragons are from Daz, outfit is from PW, character is a heavily morphed M3. Thanks for your kind comments in previous images and thanks for watching!

Okay, anyone who can command that many dragons deserves much respect! 48 dragons to come down hard on your should be enough to make even the most brave (or stupid) person think twice - or three times - about messing with someone.

Excellent! It is so convincing I'm not that sure that dragons are just a myth. The shepherd's pose and his expression certainly inspire respect and obedience, no wonder the dragons flight is so well organized. Even though he looks tough I get the feeling he will take excellent care of 'his' dragons. The terrains, clouds and light are expertly done (as usual) so I'll just comment on the dragons - I like the variations in their poses and their silhouetted appearance, but most of all I like the couple of dragons in front of the sun with their back-lit wings - beautiful. I wish we could see them even bigger than full view!

Great work! I just hope he doesn't have to shear them, or milk them, or whatever it is a shephard of dragons does with his flock...

An awe inspiring scene- the character almost appears to be willing the dragons to come forth. Excellent pose and posture for the shepherd. The attention to every detail is there- including the translucency of the dragons wings against the sun. Just an incredible work of art!

I really like this scene, composition and pov are excellent. His pose, expression and wind blown outfit is perfect, and the lighting and landscape is outstanding. Great idea and very well executed.

VERY impressive! I like how it's impossible to tell the size of the dragons. AS such you put them up as a Rorschach test of dragon-lovers! They could be wren sized and easy to tame, up to the full-sized monster and ridiculously fierce and impossible to tame, unless you're a god. That puts the figure open to interpretation, as well. Damn! You subtle bastard! LOLOLOLOL You sneak so much subtlety into every piece. Fantastic work!

I wish I could express something to improve your image, but it is too stunning right now - I'm blown away. The concept is remarkable and the execution is fantastic. I like the dragon-head suggestion of the formation as well as the POV. Evocative and suggestive of lots of motion, yet solidity. Thanks for sharing this!

You can almost feel the wind blowing. Great cloth, and of course the sky is very dynamic. Love the whole concept and execution. Top shelf work here!
