I started Brycing in November of 2003 after being introduced to it through the owner of www.mulawa.net, Peter Hewitt. He created a set of tutorials and sent a group of us a book called Advanced Bryce Creations. His generoisity has led to many hours of joy for me as I create the images you will see in my gallery.
I was able to start Brycing because I no longer worked as a CAD drafter at the local foundry which lost most of its business to overseas businesses. My husband supports me for the time being but says when he retires, I get to go back to work so we have health insurance. We will see :D
Stats: Female, married, no children, brown hair, hazel eyes, glasses, drink Bacardi Limon and diet Pepsi(have since given this up...I still miss it, lol), love to golf, camp, play PC games and Bryce. I used to love to tend my garden so that's where my nick came from...Burpee Seeds.
Boring? Maybe but I'm happy :)

This is a wonderful landscape / sky image. I understand what you mean about Bryce- learning a new software is hardly being a traitor; Bryce does nice things, but not quite like this. You'll enjoy the power and depth of Vue. Crank up those atmosphere settings to get rid of the grain. Keep up the good work.

The clouds and the lighing are great! You can change the quality settings in the atmosphere editor "Fog and Haze".

Well, you did a fantastic job on the sky! As far as feeling guilty or like a traitor I know exactly what you are feeling. When I started using DAZ I felt the same way. Though I don't use Bryce to do scenes I do use it to make props. My problem with it it can be a piggy with memory, I miss it at times.

È minha amiga, acho que a Daz poderia unir Bryce e Carrara e fazer um excelente software, o Vue 6 sem duvida hoje em dia é o mais amigável deles, portanto não precisa te sentir uma traidora do Bryce. Imagem excelentemente trabalhada, magnífica aplausos (5) My friend, I think Daz could unite Bryce and Carrara and to do an excellent software, Vue 6 without he/she doubts nowadays is the friendliest of them, therefore he/she doesn't need to feel a traitor of Bryce. Image worked excelentemente, magnificent applauses (5)

Torn between two lovers eh! lol Well, I think you are doing great with Vue, I have both programs and don't use either, so I am bad!

You've created a lovely sky! Spectral skies do tend to need extra quality boost and render in as high a quality setting that you're prepared to wait for :)

Great result with the clouds..love it! Fantastic scene Nancy :)

Excellent work Nancy ... and I understand your feelings for Bryce as that's where I briefly started before switching to Vue. Anyway, this is a beautiful render and you should be proud. Well done.

I understand your Bryce problem perfectly! I too am waiting for an update! Meanwhile, I am also learning Vue and have stopped my posting for the moment - next week I will post my first picture in Vue. However I don't feel like a traitor. I will still use Bryce because I like the way it works with Daz Studio. I am also learning Carrara because that too works with DS. Vue is great for landscapes. We'll be seeing an awful lot of them soon! Carrara, in my opinion is harder to use, but has great potential for indoor renders, as far as I can see. Of course, I am also having to learn Poser too, because that goes best with Vue... LOL! All in all, it's about experience and learning anyway. Bryce is very limited, but is a great artist's tool and is quite friendly. I see it this way. A carpenter or an engineer uses the right tool for the right job, so if you can stand the strain of holding all that info in your head (I know what you mean about forgetting controls when you go back) then its all about having a good tool box and using it accordingly, I suppose. No one should feel a traitor about developing their art. So if you do sideline Bryce, it's only because it stopped working for you – you don't own it anything! Sorry for the long post.

Excellent atmosphere. Great job. I'm looking forward to see what you'll do when you reach lesson 6. I'm sticking up for Bryce... probably I will be the last one using it. 8-)

Oh man, I'm never gonna get that song out of my head: "I miss the rain down in Africa..." I think it was toto... Read a line that triggered that song and I keep seeing images that remind me of it - lol ... picture looks Photolistic - is that a word? I think I just made that up... I meant to say realistic.
cmcc
both that's a terrific view or should i say vue.

I don't think you need to trouble yourself about using Vue. You may find over time that there are still things about Bryce that you like and want to use for. Don't think we ought to lock ourselves into one program exclusively; and most of the best artists use a combination. I'd still rather model in Bryce than Vue and Bryce is still far more intuitive and easier to use and pose things in of the two. I have Vue d'Esprit 4 and haven't used in in quite awhile. Would like to get the newer version, though.
jocko500
wonderful clouds you made. like the snake look to it too
