Description
Hi everyone... I am finally back online again with a new computer.
While the new pc was on order, I had the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream... to visit the ancient and Arthurian sites of southern England!
So to begin a new series, this is the legendary site of King Arthur's birth... Tintagel Castle on the coast of Cornwall. The day was beautiful, one of the few without rain, and I was wishing for Merlin's magic mist so as to avoid the climb up and down (twice!) some very taxing steps to the "island". The ruins shown were built around the 12th century, but archaeological excavations have found pottery dating back to the 5th or 6th century, when the legendary King Arthur was thought to have ruled Britain.
My new monitor has a larger screen resolution, so the images had to get larger too. Thanks very kindly for stopping by. I'll try to catch up in the gallery in the next few days.

Maria... good to see you back here ! And with a well composed shot (I like the stairs shape of the wall), announcing a fantastic series ! For me too, King Arthur & Lancelot have been part of my childhood... IMHO, this picture would also be gorgeous in B&W ? Have you try such a conversion + some contrast ?

I visited this place a couple of years back, but after walking down to the beach from the village I couldn't manage the climb up to the Castle. I was very disappointed(in myself not the place) that I couldn't make it. Still I should get to see some of it through your eyes, I look forward to your series with glee. It really is an amazing place, what must it have taken to build a castle in such a place as this, on the rugged coastline of Cornwall. How did they get the materials down to the site? There are hundreds of unanswered questions, to the legend of King Arthur. Excellent capture and narrative. Bravo!!!!!
