Description
I took this image of Pretty Polly (Blue & Gold Macaw) at a Bird Sanctuary close to where I live. They have quite a few of them in the Park and they are fairly tame. I wouldn't try to feed it though - I love my fingers too much.

Polly is so beautiful, with her exquisite colouring! What a sensational capture and scene! She looks as though she just woke up, and her feathers are a little ruffled, hehe… these birds are so intelligent! Excellent photograph!

Polly has wonderful posture but a pot belly! We must limit her crackers! LOL. She is a lovely feathered lady with that wrap-around boa of many colors. Simple marvelous capture.

Oh he is so beautiful!!! Superb capture Carin! My sister used to have macaws,cockatiels,cockatoo's and lovebirds (yep, we are all animal lovers, lol!)Do they allow you to keep fallen feathers? Some places will let you have them, others charge an arm and a leg. Alex and I both collect feathers, and Alex makes me earrings from feathers:-) (((C)))

I tend to agree with Sig - they are a handful as a pet - have an african grey - and still all my fingers! Lovely image of this macaw - and the puffing feathers dont always means they are alert - it can also be a sign of love or effectionate. Still beautiful!
