Hyena gnome by busi2ness

The second of this well beloved appalling series on bush droppings: One has to love the artistic touch of this hyena sculpting its faeces, hehe. Note that it's a very bright white because it's very high in calcium content, it does after all scavenge and hardly ever leaves a bone behind. Very brave animals doing a splendid job of recycling in nature.
Brace yourself, if this is not your cup of tea, it will be safe to return to this gallery after the next one or two uploads, lol. I hope you all have a splendid week!
IMPORTANT! Go challenge your fellow photographers in the August forum challenge.
Thank you for kind comments, critique and visits to my previous upload:

Where's a dung beetle wnet you need one lol. A great educational series that I enjoy very much. This one is fasinating to see how white it is from bones in all. A exception capture Piet. Hope you didn't get any on your camera:) Lady in Pink

Wonderful poo! I'm enjoying this immensely! When our Queen visited Treetops some years ago, the American press took pics of her,the British of the animals, and the Japanese of the droppings.

This is amazing. Thanks for sharing. Interesting that it is white due to the large amount of calcium.

This is one of the most unusual series I've seen...and I'm enjoying it immensely. I love the photos and comments, and I'm learning a lot, which makes me chuckle that I'm learning so much about "poo". Educational Poo 101, or Basic Poo.

People are so damn polite and serious in their comments lol I think you've lost it lol But seriously, if you hadn't said anything for this photo and the previous one... well you still make interesting photos and compositions out of it lol The biggest I've ever seen is the buffalo's... man! BTW, only last week you were afraid of being too serious... lol

You are correct, Piet. Dung is not my cup of tea, yet your captures are both very interesting (because of your added narrative) and artistic (because of your POV's and great composition). I will continue to comment and admire, as time permits...but I can't hardly wait for more of your wild life captures!! You're a very talented photographer. May you always have a steady hand and alert eye sight!!! Hugz from your friend, Robin

What can I say....you funny but again you find an "appealing" side of this package. After all this is part of any living soul.

cool I never seen this on tv.

Bush droppings? Coulda fooled me...I thought they were mushrooms! Anyway, stellar effects in this composition of the hyena waste products, Piet. But why so white? A long cry from elephant dung.

I never thought that a pile of poop would be... um, artistic. Very interesting. ;o) Bunny

Wow..... quite the "statues"... a definite trademark/landmark indeed! :) A superb series of the most ... original subject... brings a smile to my face! It almost looks like a snowman on his knees examining something or other that lies ahead. This is absolutely awesome Piet! Great work!

LOL! I'd like to see a photo of you getting the photo.... Nice shot and it doesn't look like do-do, hehe, but a little sculpture.

Piet I have to say that I remembered that there is an artist that is doing human poop art. Something like poop on a stick or piece of soap(I do not remember). Sorry but I wondered where his head was personally. Although I do have to say, the poop art you are capturing is actually quite amazing! Nature at it's best or worst depending on how you look at it! Marvelous series!
