Description

The term "sub rosa," literally "under the rose," is a term used to indicate secrecy and confidentiality. Although one of the meanings of the white rose is innocence and purity, the older traditional meaning is that of secrecy and silence. (An interesting juxtaposition, wouldn't you agree?) A white rose has been carved or painted over doorways and on ceilings of rooms, as far back as Roman times, to remind participants that what was said in the room stayed there. A sort of "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" reminder throughout antiquity. There's no hidden meaning here ... I just thought you might find that interesting! :) Oh, and by the way ... if you write any of your secrets under this rose, down there in the comment box, I can't guarantee your secret will be safe!

Not only is this a perfect rose for your model, but your stellar postworking has made this breathtaking. If the white rose means silence then I guess we know why I only have three white rose bushes in the rose garden... Me? Silent? Good heavens! Perish the thought!

A lovely snippet of information there Tara, White Rose to me means over the Red Rose border into Yorkshire and the War of the Roses. I am a wearer of both though as my mother was a White Rose from the East Riding(Hull) and my father was a Red Rose from Lancashire(Littleborough). He used to tell me that only one good thing came from Yorkshire and that was the road into Lancashire and my mother of course. Lol. Shhh keep it a secret, this is absolutely stunning, the lighting is wonderful, the form of the rose is just perfect, thats twice today I have used that word. They don't come much better than this; perfect! Bravo!!!!!5++++++
