Description
This image is for my wonderful friend Nancy or known to many as npauling. Nancy is one of those rare few who are gifted in so many ways as she does brilliant work in Fractals, Photography and Mixed Mediums. A stroll through her gallery will feel like a relaxing walk in a beautiful setting with a long time friend. A while back I asked her if I could do a image and she provided me with many wonderful stories of her and her family but this one really made me smile the most. I hope you enjoy it and hope it brings smiles.Take care,
Dave
Lambpede (For npauling): Nancy was brought up on a mixed crop and livestock farm in the South Island of New Zealand. She loved to do the chores around the farm with her family like tending to their large group of lambs. On this day however during chores a bad storm rolled in and her parents Ken and Rosalie called for the children to begin rounding up the lambs. You see in New Zealand they don't have a lot of large barns, so in the event of a storm you put the little guys anywhere you can find room. They put lambs in the hen houses, the pigsty the implement shed and even some in the kitchen and laundry. They would then spend hours drying and feeding the lambs milk to warm them up. I tried to capture the moment when Nancy (in the raincoat) and her four sisters Sally, Helen, Susan, Janet along with their brother Robert would herd them in the house.

This is so sweet! Again your mixture of image and story are so charming! I especially like the little redhead in the forefront of the image, the one with the red dress on and her finger up in the air as if to say, "Don't even think about it", to the little sheep.

Wauw Dave what a great composition you made here! The expressions on the characters faces look so real. The poses are really good. And all of your Maddies and Matts are wearing different clothes. I always thought there where not so much different clothes in store to buy for those 2. i can not find them.. This is very impressive work. And it is indeed funny al those sheep wanting to enter the house. I love it! 5++fav.

Lol! Love the story and the image is very fun! Being raised on a farm i had a lot of chores, most I loved because it was with the animals...but I dreaded the woodpile, always full of spiders and beetles and anything creepy crawly! Lambs were the only animals we didn't have, and it was at any given time that we had baby animals in the kitchen by the wood stove. You would have thought that when we grew up that would change, did for me but my sister still lets chickens etc roam thru her house. I remember one morning getting up to get ready for school and heard all these peeping sounds...went to the kitchen and in the box where there were eggs the night before were now these little fat fuzzy yellow chicks. made for a very pleasant morning:-) This is super Dave, I have only just met Nancy, she seems like a really nice person and I love her unique brand of art.

Lovely and fun image! I like all the different expressions and attitudes in both the children and the lambs. Three sheep seem to be cooperating, three hesitating at the bottom, one considering going back down and one sitting down on the job. The children also have various expressions and poses. There is some anxiety in Nancy's expression, even as she gently strokes the most recalcitrant lamb. In the others there is anxiety, encouragement, bemusement, bossiness, and fun. I like the words being exchanged in the bottom left corner. I love the light, shadows and dark sky in the distance. It reminds me of Louisiana, right before a storms. The sun is still hot, and casting dark shadows but the storm is closing in. Lovely, busy shot. Beautiful words and dedication.

Bell'immagine di Nancy , sorelle e fratello insieme agli agnelli messi, da loro, al sicuro. In pratica una grande famiglia allargata! Beautiful image of Nancy, sisters and brother along with the lambs made from them, safe. In practice, a large family!
