To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

The general theme of darkness is so beautifully presented here...not so much via mood, but by the textures and the moths. Fantastic, brooding, and emotionally-arousing work, as always! Needless to say, it's on par with your other superb pieces.

The title fits this so well. I think that this is more mysterious though and such a wonderful creation.

this is an emergence from the dark night of the soul, but into a place real hope. (Yeah, I feel that!) Not only because your woman emerges to butterflies & a beautiful orb (veiled but radiant), but because it's laced with your beautiful organic & veined forms, which give life to it all. Still—so I don't seem 'too' positive—she walks out of some strange cellar, everything's soaked in dark-greens and grays (your palettes!) and your layering, as Mandi says, is just wonderful. Hey, as another not-too-shabby writer said, "...tis now the very witching hour of night when churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out contagion to this world"—one of the more delightful passages in english where good ol' Hamlet is probably evoking the plague: Well you evoke that open-grave night here, creepily, beautifully and with real fun! (Am I the only one who thinks there's fun here?) But unlike Hamlet's light moment, you have beauty and light seeping everywhere. (Even your wonderful crypt-like framing doesn't take away from that.) A beautiful image, and perfect for the coming season! Well I'm gonna take my soul up from under those shadows (little buggers!), tell that damned bird to stop saying 'nevermore', and tell him "rave? If ya can't say somethin' nice, don't squawk at all!' But hey, that's just me, whaddo I know......great image, Mina. I love it!
