Description

Nothing like a warm bowl of soup on a cold day, winter has arrived in Tennessee and its cold... Stay warm everyone

Thanks for your comments on my last upload called, My Kind of Town, showing the Chicago skyline, some were quite mixed, some of you said that they prefer the country more to the city life and I agree, that probably shows in my gallery. But I will say this in Chicago's defense I found the city beautiful, extremely clean, the city parks we visited were full of flowers, fountains, sculptures and beautiful landscapes. I was very impressed with both the city and the people there.

Since I began working out a few decades ago I am not a fan of soup which has almost no nutritional value. I tease my lady friend about "bunker soup" when she makes it. Yes it has a few vitamins and minerals just like a whole head of lettuce has about 1 gram of protein. It tastes good with it's high sodium salt content. The picture is what I came for. One has to please the cook.

Well I'll be! I have that cookbook and a couple of those soup bowls. :-) Wish my kitchen looked this organized though... Stuper shot with a fresh feeling.

Wow, the old country pantry! But where is the blender, toaster and microwave oven? Excellent composition, and nice work with the framing effect in this shot, Lynell.

oh this is a little joy. Don't know if you stocked this thing yourself or found it in a shop/home, etc., but either way you captured a packed world of old American designs, the wonderful drawings & paintings that graced daily objects in the early 20th C., with their old-style fonts, wonderful designs like the "Rhode Island Red" rooster (so typical of that time), and you even have some objects from farm-life—Universal Chick Feeder!—and one of those wonderful old paintings underneath a "Cream Separator" sign. (Cream Separator! Haven't seen one of those in Chicago recently!) Really nice potpourri, Lynell, I love when you shoot these, and they're a nice counterpart to your old-structures series. And btw, glad you liked Chicago: It does have some terrific qualities for a big city, though there are days I'd like to get out of it too...And btw, it snowed here this week, so that cupboard looks very inviting right now.
