Description

Could you just imagine we had walk these rocky areas barefoot. Even the harsh terrain on the cooled lava rock trails barefoot. Then civilization came and we had to wear shoes. Now its very difficult to step out of the house without some kind of footwear protection. Ouch! Time has changed. Aloha and thank you for viewing

When you see men who walk on beds of nails (not sure how), I guess walking on lava rock must be possible too. But I'll keep my shoes on :-) Bill

Although I walk barefoot where and when I can, I do not think I could walk over these lava rocks as I imagine that some of them would be a bit too sharp for my sensitive feet! Super photo :)

LOL You always have an interesting viewpoint. =) When we first moved to Oklahoma from Germany (Army family) when I was 8, I had no idea what "stickers" were.... low growing trailing plants like bermuda grass but were carpets of small barbs that Ouch! hurt like heck... flip flops were necessary summer gear~ Cannot imagine running barefoot there unlike the soft green grass of Tennessee.

I know I don't wear shoes unless I have to (for work) but I have also found that I need some covering on the soles - hence the flipflops I live in. :-) My ancestors were big on footwear (deer or buffalo skins) so walking on these rocks with no shoes would not be my choice. I'm big on preserving heritege so keep in mind... practice makes perfect. LOL!

Time has changed my friend, but one thing has not changed since people walked bare foot to now....the scene is still as beautiful today as it was then, and you captured it and share it so all who aren't privlaged enough to walk their with thier feet, can do so with thier minds. :) Aloha.

Wonderful color and composition! This habit has concerned me all my life. We could all be kept prisoners somewhere just because of softened feet. I stay barefoot as much as possible, on very hot pavement and even feeding the birds in snow. But please don't stare at my feet. Aloha!
