My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wow Tara! Was it Alfred, the butler, closing those impenetrable doors? Amazing gate you've found. My first thought was Batman's lair. I'd have to imagine being invited to dinner here since I don't think it could be home for me! Very cool shot.

Nice description! how I wish it were true! Wonderful photo!

Wow! You can't clinb over or under it and that big round plate prevents you from reaching around and opening in from behind. Well designed and captured. Dana

Oh Dierbaar - apart from seeing the atmosphere in your wonderful image, I can feel it in your amazing words! You are SO good with words... What a delightful and touching upload my friend! huge applause ps. Thanks for the chat last night...

I don't know... as elegant as it seems, it also seems like being locked away in a made up world, not touching reality or being a part of anything at all. Yes plenty of security in gates and wealth, but so very isolated from what life really is all about. Fabulous shot.

Great set of gates and the lighting is good, great shot.

This would make a nice port in the storm of city dwelling. Both photo and narrative make an A-1 unified presentation! A doorman in this day and age...very luxurious.

With all that old money it's no wonder the gate looks like a bank vault door. What a wonderful find!

Yet another creation of necessity - great feel of security with your description. Cheers, Clive

NOOO--- It looks more like something OLD, as Norman Conquest´s old resident. Ok I bet none of you remember him :-) AND He was an english figure and not from Chicago LOL ! Dont pay attention to my nonsens, but I like the beautiful gate :-)
