Description

This is Chip (Chipka) looking out the hotel window at some interesting photographic subject or other. He and Corey had come to pick us up on that September Saturday morning in Chicago, and we were all hanging around waiting for Dave and Cheri to arrive. If you aren't familiar with Chip's work, you can visit his gallery HERE. He's amazing!

The light is beautiful! I love the way it softly illuminates his face and fingers. This is perfectly titled. Active and creative thought is very present in his expression. Excellent portrait! Great profile too!

WOW - what an incredible image of our friend! I agree with PJ - he does look pensive and is probably busy thinking up a wonderful tale to add to the excellent photographic matter he produces! Wonderful portrait Tara!!!

WOW! I look so smart. To be honest, I was probably thinking "Hmmm...porkchops! Porkchops taste good. I like porkchops; I wonder if they go good with marzipan... Oooh look...a window! Windows are cool." I remember that day fondly, and I can still taste Persian food too...oooh...Persian food is good. What a wonderful shot! And its funny, I haven't worn that shirt since that day. Okay, it's been a bit chilly for short sleeves, but now I'm wondering what drawer its in. This rocks! I love it! Thank you for posting this. It's such a pleasant surprise!

Great shot of Chip, doing what he does best. Sorry you had to wait so long. I think it took longer to find a parking spot then the drive down LOL.

Now this is a portrait and a half. That means it really rocks. As good as you are getting with what you call "informal portraits", I am losing ground to you fast in this arena:) And Chip...well, you've picked on an easy subject...with a great profile. Well done:)

Very nice portrait! I recognize that face! I remember that day too. I think I got almost the exact same shot, so I must have been standing right next to you. It's very crisp and I can still taste that pomegranate walnut sauce that smothered the chicken we ate. I think Chip ordered that, or was it you? I remember it though and I wish that weekend could have been a lot longer! This is great. I really like the way you caught the light and the 12th floor parking garage...and of course, Chip, who--contrary to what he says--was probably thinking up some devious plot twist involving carnivorous pansies, or futuristic Russians who all talk like Vladimir Putin.

Hey!!!! I know him! I'm so sorry for not being around much, I've been put in a position where I only have a few minutes to do any comments at all, and I hate it!!! This is a great shot of Chip, I love the shots of that weekend,....it was for me the best one of the summer. Every time someone posts something from it, I get the opportunity to reminisce and live it all over again. Thanks you for that!
