Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Nice capture Bill and wonderful looking plane.. well done!!
jayfar
Nice shot. The drip pan looks as if it's not needed.

Chocks away! I like the POV and crop, Bill - pretty much what the pilot would look at on his approach to the craft - a belly-button on the drip tray! Well done, Clive

What appeals to me most is the planes 'skin'!
njb2000
Nice historic plane love the reflections!
Rainastorm
Wow looks pretty tiny under there!:-)

Not just the plane is worthy, but the shot also!

Yep Rose! A 109 was / is very tiny indeed.. This is a very cool shot (if slightly dark) but as you quite rightly say young Bill, if there is a tray underneath, it lives! Coooooool! Rob

I like the curved light bars on the propeller; excellent capture!

Great capture, Bill!

Swoop - right over my head!!! But I like the compo and the overall 'feel' of the image! Great work Bill! :)

You sure there isn't a Harley in there somewhere??? ;)

Great image and comment, Bill.

Nice 109, Bill - great photo. I'm so glad there are folks out there that keep these old warbirds flying - both Allied and Axis. Both sides had several good aircraft. I'd love to see this baby in the air. One plane I've never seen - a 262. Somebody somewhere has to have one tucked away... I know we brougnt several back to examine after the war.

Great shot. One of my favorite planes, the Me. Cool how one can make out the wood laminations in the Hoffmann prop blade (original VDM blades were metal). Interesting that the landing gear struts are flat, lowering the nose quite a bit. The longitudinally grooved tires look weird - lol.

Excellent shot Bill. I like the reflections on the propellar.

Wonderful shot!

Beautiful colours and lighting. The chocks seem to be original RLM yellow, which adds a nice authentic touch. Besides that the "trout-Style" paintjob is my fav on Bf-109 fighters.

It does look good in zoom, is that a spot of oil on the tray!!!

Well seen and captured!

Boy, is Renderosity giving me a headache in posting this comment. So here I go again. Fine capture considering the lighting conditions in this shot, Bill. Looks like paper towels lining the drip pan in order to catch the oil and other lubricants. And, with that fragile landing gear and forward fuselage engine cowling, it was easy to ID this WWII fighter as a Messerschmitt veteran of the Luftwaffe.

If it was me Bill I wouldn't have hesitated posting this for a second. A great shot of a great old girl.

This place looks to be so well looked after as everything is sparkling clean and shiny and of course they wouldn't want oil to spoil the effect, but note that there is only one tiny drop of oil there so engine must be very well looked after. Lovely lighting in this capture.
dbrv6
Great detail on the capture and agree on the zoom!
beachzz
Wonderful light on this fine old plane!!
