Description

Not a good sign, A great sign! A drip pan beneath a classic plane means that plane is airworthy (most of the time)...it is fully alive. Somebody relishes tender loving care on it. A plane with a drip pan is more than a static museum exhibit. It does what it was always intended to do. It flies. ...It roars. It climbs. It dives. It rolls. It tickles the eyes. It thrills the soul! The "boys" who view this (you former model builders) and at least a couple of you "girls" I know will recognize these spindly legs as belonging to an iconic World War II fighter...the renown Messerschmidt Bf 109. This one happens to be the Paul Allen Flying Heritage Collection's Bf 109 E-3 (Emil). I stewed a little over posting this...but personally liked these bits and pieces...so here they are:) Drip Pan #1 came way back in October 2009: Click Here To me...shapes, colors and shadows look all the better when this is ZOOMed. I have added a bit of light to this thanks to Rob's comment below:) Bill:) "Surprise" thumb_2036287.jpg

I read everyone's comments ... I did! Trout paint, tires, laminated prop, oil spot, landing gear, chocks. But you know the thing I find most attractive about this image is that gorgeous floor! LOL! I love the golden light and the buffed, reflective surface. Sheesh ... you can't take me anywhere! :P

No reason to stop and stew over this one, Bill. It's a fine detail view of the 109 that we modelers drool over!
