Description
I was going to post a picture of Central Park today but the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico prompted me to make this scene last night.
I'm sorry for the 11 lives lost tragically, the thousands more whose lives will be ruined and for the enormous loss of animal live and habitat yet to happen.
I live on an island in the Gulf of Mexico in SW Florida, far south of this site, but even here we are feeling the effects, the cell phones aren't working, the network if full. A small inconvenience but I fear it is a symptom of a major crisis of giant proportion as yet unstated.
Is it worth it?
Sorry for the rant, and thanks for looking.
The parrots are from Ken Gilliland's Songbird Remix Parrots of the World collection. The Oil Rig is from C3D.

Great image. Nice contrast to nature and the rig and ship in the background. There are no words to aptly tell the consequences of this tragedy. This should be a resounding call to invest heavily in alternative energy sources. A certain irony in my own family, my oldest brother is an upper level guy at BP, but in the alternative energies division, specifically solar. He said him and his teamates would just look at each other and shake their head. I hope his division grows in leaps and bounds now.

I feel an enormous correction by Mother Nature is in the works! Can we overpopulated humans expect to survive much longer? A most excellent render and marvelous descriptive! Thank you for sharing your art and thoughts!

A very appropriate image you have created here and it really is a disaster unfolding. Excellent work.

Absolutely stunning and dead on target! Reports are now saying the oil will reach the Atlantic Ocean. We may be facing a worldwide oil slick. But never forget, solar is too expensive and impractical.

Excellent work and great social commentary! I live in the Florida Pan-handle (NW Florida) The oil will most likely reach here in two or three weeks.

Doesn't it feel great to step up and state your case. I agree 100% with your stand along with your beautiful and tranquil render. Well done on both. Dana
