Description

This one is a bit different for me, especially since I have quite a fear of spiders, I was actually taking some photos of some wild flowers and was down pretty close to some when I noticed this guy not to far away, my first thought was get the heck away then at second glance I thought I can do this... so with slight trembling hands and a silly fear that it would jump off that web and onto me, I steadied my little Kodak point and shoot that I take on bike rides.. and got as close as I could dare myself... and after a few shots took in the beauty of the spider and a bit of my fear went away.. Markus, I thought of you when I was taking this shot, and all the awesome photos of spiders and other little creatures you have brought to us in your wonderful gallery, I hope you will enjoy it.. I hope you will take a minute to check out some of the collection PRAEP has done recently on spiders. If you care to read more about these species here is a LINK the most important thing I did read about them is that they are are considered harmless to humans, unless of course seeing one causes you to perhaps have a heart attack like it about did to me. lol Thank you all for your support. I have made a video of some of my photos some you have seen in my gallery and others I have not posted as yet, if you would like to view, here is the LINK TO MY VIDEO and this is my first attempt so please please be gentle but also let me know your comments, by the way the full screen option seems to come out fuzzy, I am in process of trying to learn how to correct that for next time... thank you thumb_2101989.jpg

It may have been with trembling hands but you managed to get a great marco. Not only did you show the colors of the spider but you also show the intrisity of the web. Well done Lynell now lets work on Snakes :)

Great job... I agree with your critique and appreciate it. I took the aperture through to F45 and still could not get the focus right. Its going to get some getting used to. :)

OMG! I used to be so afraid of these in the Marshes and Bogs back in Michigan when I was a child. This is a very great capture and I am surprised at the results considering the camera you used. Wow! Spectacular!

Great shot! That's how I was when I first started taking photos of bugs and spiders. Every now and then one will surprise me... like the other day, one of those big ugly brown grasshoppers flew at me and landed on my shirt. I am sure all the neighbors heard me. Thank God they couldn't see me 'dancing' ..and then I started to giggle. lol

Spiders are a very real threat sometimes. my late father used to say every time you kill one it makes rain. Around here the brown recluse has sent a lot of people to the ER! Excellent capture!!

Nice shot! I have one of these attached to my hydrangea that I've been feeding. They can eat grasshoppers very quickly!! I had tried to figure out a good way to photograph her. Yay, now I don't have to! Thanks for the link to the info.

It's not the web spiders you have to worry about, unless you walk into it. It's the hunter spiders that sneak up on you. ;D Excellent capture!
